Quinta Rosano is a lovely villa set in peaceful surroundings away from the bustle of 21st century life. It is a paradise for nature lovers, ornithologists and walkers alike, yet is within easy reach of towns and villages with shops and bars and many beautiful, uncrowded beaches. It is only an hour away from the mountains of Monquiche. The local Portuguese are very friendly, making everyone welcome which, combined with the warm climate and excellent food and drink, make a very pleasant holiday. A car is highly recommended. Nearest airport: Faro-100kms or 90 minutes drive. It is also a very pleasant drive from Lisbon - 300kms or 3 hours.
Activities: A wide range of holiday activities are within half an hour's drive the property. Four top golf courses, home of several local and national championships, are located at the famous Penina, Palmares, the new Boavista and Parque da Floresta courses. Scuba diving, dolphin and deep sea fishing excursions, and trips by traditional sailing boats to the famous grottoes of Ponta de Piedade are available in Lagos. Jeep safaris to the mountains of Monchique have local pick-up points and there are some fabulous beaches to explore on both the southern and west coasts of the Algarve. Horse riding is also available locally. For the best views of this terrific coastline, why not take a trial flight in a microlight aircraft from the Algarve Airsports Centre which is based at Lagos Aerodrome. A wide range of flight training courses are available through this CAA approved flying school.
Golf: Four top golf courses, home of several local and national championships, are located nearby. The famous Penina and Palmares courses; the new Boavista and the challenging Parque da Floresta courses both of which have hosted the Henry Cooper Classic.
Other Activities: Birdwatching, microlighting, paragliding, dolphin boat trips, sightseeing and a small zoo.
