The cottages have been in the family for over 50 years, having been bought new by my grandfather. They have been used as the family holiday home for three generations. They have undergone extensive renovations in the winter of 2004 and are now completely refurbished. Both houses are surrounded by traditional courtyards with grape vines and flower beds - a great place for barbeque's! - each having exclusive access to their own courtyard. If you wish to rent both properties, access between the two can be given. Sea views can be seen from the door porch and it's only a short walk to the beach. There is also an Olympic sized swimming pool by the beach for those who do not wish to venture the waves which includes a children's pool as well. Situated within a private courtyard with barbeque facilities, grape vines and views of the sea from the front porch or the kitchen window, it is a mere few minutes walk to the beach and local amenities. It boasts a completely modern kitchen and bathroom, as it was renovated during the winter 2004/2005, but keeping with local tradition of decor and materials, such as granite kitchen work tops, terracotta floors throughout. It comprises of a master bedroom, second bedroom, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. There is also an outside secure storage area, ideal for suitcases, bikes, surf and windsurf boards, golf clubs, etc. There is a second identical cottage next door that can be rented simultaneously to accommodate larger groups. Transport

There is very easy access to Praia das Maçãs from the Lisbon airport (we will send you detailed routes and maps once you've booked) but if you don't rent a car, there is also a choice of public transport, and a taxi ride would cost you about 45 euros on a Saturday. Car rental is available locally or from Lisbon airport, you can arrange this before you travel. Buses leave from Praia das Maçãs to Sintra regularly. In Sintra there are two main train stations into Lisbon and also the north of the country. You can take another bus from Sintra to Cascais, Estoril, Mafra or Ericeira, just ask at the information centre. We can do private airport transfers for 30 euros each way, cheaper than a taxi ride and with the added benefit of some site seeing and useful information along the way!
