The villa offers: A large suited, double-bedroom facing the pool, with bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and own sun-terrace. A medium-sized twin-bedroom with its own bathroom and facing a little patio (to be used as a sun-terrace). A large suited, twin-bedroom with bathroom, fireplace, walk-in wardrobe, facing the village and with a view to the ocean. A twin-bedroom with shower en-suite, facing the pool. Live-in kitchen (table for 8). A dining area with a large table for ten to twelve people. Comfortable living room with fireplace. A conservatory area with a stunning view down to the ocean. A daily maid service (after noon) as well as a basic grocery starter pack. Central heating (extra fee); a central courtyard to give freshness during the summer. A sheltered Swimming Pool (keeps water constantly warm with any weather). Secure closed parking area for 4 cars. Wireless internet access(broadband), use of a house - 'Safe' . Our village - a genuinely unspoilt farming village - is located above Cape Roca, overlooking the ocean; in an area where you can visit historical places, villages and towns, rich in works of art, from which you can easily reach in a 25 minute drive either the towns of Sintra, Estoril or Cascais, the well known fishing resort town, as well as several beaches and golf courses. The village is hanging on the wooded hill of the Serra de Sintra, also known as Serra da Lua 'The Moon Mountain;' The coast is 1.2 Km away and offers spectacular scenery with Cabo da Roca (most western point of Continental Europe on a 140 m high cliff) and big sandy beaches (magnificent Ursa beach (ca. 30 Min.walking distance); Adraga beach (10 min.drive) was ranked as one of the ’20 perfect European beaches’ by the Sunday Times; Guincho beach) partly stretching out below cliffs. There are several golf courses near our area. Quinta da Marinha, Penha Longa or Oitavos Club, are 20 min. drive away.

  • During the months of September and October we give a discount of 20% on 4 weeks- and longer bookings as well as 8% on 2 weeks- and longer bookings .
    Prices shown are for a max. of 8 persons and 1 baby.
    A daily maid service (excl. Sundays), garden - and pool maintenance, normal consumption of gas and electricity, tap water, diesel oil for the production of hot water, bed linen and towels (beach-towels are not provided), which are changed at least once weekly - all that is included in the rental price. Minimal rental period: 1 week (winter months 4 nights). The Supplements are: Telephone-Calls; Firewood (optional); Central heating in the winter months); we can organize a free cot for a baby and a free baby high chair and, after agreement, as an extra, an additional adult bed or a little bed for a child if the total number of persons would be 9 instead of 8. Prices are subject to alteration.

Suitable for wheelchairs: Suitable for elderly and infirm (the whole property on one floor and wheelchair accessible). Wooden ramp for wheelchair in the living area and a walk-in shower with a chair in it.

Special interest holidays: We can provide you special interest holidays such as painting courses in the atelier of a local artist who lives and works 2 minutes walk away from the villa or painted decoration workshops in our neighbour´s village called Almoçageme at 5 min. drive from the villa. Golf: There are several golf courses within 10 km radius, 6 full length golf courses are within 20 mins drive. These include Penha Longa which is only 15 minutes away, the famous Estoril Golf Club, Quinta da Beloura near Sintra and Clube de Campo at Belas, north of the Royal Palace at Queluz. Next to Penha Longa are the practice facilities of the Academia International de Golf. In Cascais you have the Quinta da Marinha Golf Club and the Quinta da Marinha Oitavos Club (10-15 minutes drive). Visitors are welcome everywhere.

"We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Buglione. it occupies a lovely situation in the hills of Azoia overlooking the ocean. The villa was outstanding in its decor,furnishings and space. There was lots of room to relax and spread out. The bedrooms were luxurious and very comfortable. We liked the sunken lounge area and the central courtyard. The conservatory was a very light and airy room with a relaxed ambience and good selec tion of books and magazines. The covered swimming pool was a hit with everyone. Giampiero was always available to help with any queries and to give advice about the area, making us feel very much at home."

The property´s description doesn't do justice to the beautiful exterior and interior which is very stylishly furnished with many beautful objects on display. All the bedrooms are spacious and allow for privacy if you want to escape from the group. We have stayed in numerous villas in Southern Europe but have never found such a well equipped kitchen - it was a pleasure to cook in. All of this combined with great pool and conservatory areas made our holiday very enjoyable.

If you are looking for a peaceful location then Azóia is the place for you. It really is a village unlike some so-called villages which turn out to be mini towns. We used 2 of the 4 restaurants and had excellent meals in both. There are weekly fish/fruit and veg markets with bread/cakes/milk available in the (very) mini market.

We used public transport and after some initial difficulties sorting out timetables this worked well. There are buses going to Sintra and Cascais every hour and from both these towns you have access to trains/buses that will take you to Lisbon and many other destinations. Although we were happy with our arrangements a car for part of the holiday would be useful for the larger supermarket shopping trips and ad hoc sightseeing.

We were very well looked after by the owners whose presence is there if you want it but generally unobstrusive. We were also very well looked after by the delightful Maria whose capacity to clean to a very high standard without disturbing us was remarkable!

Our unforgettable 2008 summer on the Lisbon Coast

A lovely and very well equiped villa in a small village which is genuinely a home from home. Very spacious for a family of 8 with everything you could wish for. Lovely part of Portugal with Sintra, Lisbon and Cascais all within easy reach - there is plenty to do if you want to get out, but equally easy to relax by the covered pool or in the wonderful conservatory, watching the sun sink with a refreshing drink and a good book (also supplied in the villa!)
Worthy of special note is the English speaking owner, Gianpiero, who is always on hand to deal with problems (we had none!) or just to help out booking restaurants etc. He even texted us when the morning mist lingered and suggested alternative locations if we wanted to find the sun again.
A truely memorable and relaxing break. Thank you!

The villa has a very good layout with 4 large bedrooms and bathrooms so it worked well for 2 families. The bathrooms are a good size and there is plenty of cupboard space. It is a short walk to a number of restaurants including 2 very good Portuguese restaurants. There are views of the Atlantic and the sea breeze means it isn't too hot in the evening. This part of Portugal has its own micro climate which means that they get the odd misty morning. The plus points are beautiful green countryside and lovely fruit and veg at the market. This villa has a covered pool which means it is still usuable even on a breezy morning! Praia Adraga is only 15 minutes away and this is a beautiful beach with a bar and small restaurant. The villa is extremely well equipped and we found the washing machine and tumble dryer very useful. There id also a microwave and coffee maker which was useful. The main living area is large and spacious with lots of candles and antique ornaments. The setting was very tasteful (although parents of smaller children might well find too much within grasp of small hands!) The owner was very helpful and attentive. He lives in an annex next to the villa but is very unobtrusive One massive plus is the daily maid service . Towels are replenished and beds made so it is a bit like a hotel! In short, a really lovely villa in a village with bars and restaurants in walking distance and a beach a short drive away.

The property was excellent and the maid service was very good. The owner was extremely nice and helpful. The area was lovely and village inhabitants very friendly. We had a great holiday and would definitely recommend the property to family and friends and hope to use the property in the future.
