Azoia:
The village still maintains a traditional Portuguese feel, but now contains 4 restaurants, a bar in a converted windmill with a stunning view along the coast, a café, an artists studio and a tennis court for hire. There's a grocery store, daily vegetable market, and fresh bread rolls to be had from the delivery van each morning.
General Area:
Azoia is situated about 1.5 Km from Cabo da Roca, the most westerly point of mainland europe, and in the pine-clad foothills of the Serra da Sintra making it ideal walking territory. There is a beautiful secluded beach a scramble from the road to Cabo da Roca and many other more accessible beaches a short drive away.
Sporting facilities:
There are excellent golf courses close by. Guincho, one of the most famous wind-surfing beaches in Europe is 15 minutes away. Bikes can be hired in Colares or Cascais.
