Ocean Front, Ground Floor Flat, Situated in a quiet fishing village location with Sun, Sun, Sun. Paul Do Mar is a sleepy little hamlet where life carries on as it has done for hundreds of years and the local people still make a living from the sea. The harbour is home to about thirty fishing boats, where you can buy freshly caught fish direct from the fisherman. The Ocean Front, Ground Floor Flat, is situated on the sea wall and has 180 degree views of the Ocean with the constant sound of waves crashing on the rocks below. This village is set against a backdrop of mountains which makes this place Hot, Hot, Hot with Sun, Sun, Sun, for most of the year. The views are stunning in all directions and brilliant sun sets evert night. As yet mass tourism has not discovered Madeira, and only a very few fortunate people have discovered this beautiful little village where you might find you are the only tourists in town! NEW: We now have air conditioning!

This Ground Floor Flat is located in Paul do Mar on the south west coast of Madeira which is Hot, Hot, Hot. It is a sub tropical paradise with colourful plants and flowers set against a backdrop of mountains and terraced gardens. This area is as yet undiscovered by tourists. The Ocean Front, Ground Floor Flat is located in the only working fishing village on the island where you can still buy fish direct from the boat. This small sleepy working fishing village is surrounded by mountains with wonderful scenic walks. The Ground Floor flat is situated one metre from the sea wall. This area is ideal for water sports of all kinds as well as photography and lavada walking walking. The village has a bank, supermarket, small bars and has its own small beach area next to the picturesque harbour. Paul do Mar is now connected to the main highway giving access to all areas of the island. Paul do Mar has its own micro-climate and consequently it is warm with Sun Sun Sun even in winter.

  • Please note that due to the haphazard nature of building in this village over hundreds of years, where houses were built back to back, there are no windows in the bedrooms. However, plenty of ventilation is available via the front windows which can be left open at night to receive the cooling breeze from the ocean, and we now have air-conditioning. A recent Client writes via email: 'Hi Phil, got here fine thanks, flat is lovely. Sun just sinking into the sea and we're off to eat soon- all good! Hi Phil, Had a really good time, thanks. Flat is great, and the town is certainly quiet! We much preferred the quieter western end of the island to Funchal. The walking was fantastic, and some of the driving pretty scary! 5 days was, of course, nothing like long enough. I can understand why people keep going back- we would, it's really lovely.
