Situated on the top (2nd) floor of a peaceful, well-appointed, small block of apartments you can enjoy uninterrupted south and westerly sea views while being only a short walk from a well stocked supermarket, variety of shops, plenty of restaurants and a couple of 5 star hotels. The comfortable open plan sitting/dining room with compact, well-equipped kitchen gives access to a balcony overlooking the ocean offering indoor/outdoor living all year round. Alongside are a bathroom and a double/twin bedroom with additional balcony access. With several kilometres of new promenade and sea/pool swimming on your doorstep this is an idyllic retreat to which guests return again and again. Only a 2 minute walk to a bus stop/taxi rank and 10 minutes by bus to Funchal centre/harbour. Our English speaking taxi driver, Teresa, can collect you from the airport at a cost of €30 payable directly to her. Car hire not necessary. Weekly cleaning and change of linen & towels provided.

Both apartments have an entrance hall which gives access to the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and open plan sitting/dining room with balcony beyond. The sitting/dining area has comfortable sofas and chairs, occasional tables, cable TV, a dining table +chairs and limited edition artwork. A large window looks out to sea and a door leads on to the balcony measuring 3m x 2 m with a table, chairs and 2 loungers to relax in, the ideal place for meals, catching the rays or enjoying a drink and watching the sun go down! The compact, fully fitted and equipped kitchen with granite worktops includes a full-size electric cooker, fridge with ice box, an iron and ironing board. There is also a washing machine and drying rack. The fully-tiled bathroom has a hand basin, WC, bidet and bath with shower attachment and a marble floor. The bedroom, with polished wooden floor, has twin beds, bedside tables with lamps, a hairdryer, a chest of drawers and a large fitted wardrobe. A door leads on to the balcony.

• Bookings are accepted on a Monday-Monday basis. TWO-WEEK BOOKINGS are charged at a discounted rate of £600 (£640 in '09). FOUR-WEEK BOOKINGS are charged at a discounted rate of 290 GBP (£310 in '09) per week.
  
• TO BOOK: Check availability for the dates you require by submitting an enquiry on this site. Bookings are handled by the owners Caroline or Tony Regan who have a personal website: please contact them for details. They accept payment in sterling by cheque or bank transfer. A non-returnable £100 per week deposit must be paid at the time of booking with the balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival. If a booking is made within 6 weeks of arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking.

There is a regular bus service 2 minutes' walk uphill and a supermarket and restaurants are less than 5 minutes' walk away. The Forum Madeira shopping complex is approximately 5 minutes' walk. Funchal city centre is a 10-minute ride on the bus. Natural rock pools for swimming are just a few minutes' walk from the apartment, as is the lovely Coastal Promenade. A fact sheet, packed with places to visit, suggested restaurants and full of useful tips can be sent to you when you book.
