This is a lovely family house set in a peaceful residential area with stunning views looking out onto the ocean. The house is located on the sunny southern coast of Madeira close to the fashionable district of Garajau and Canico Centro. Guests can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Dessertas Islands from the large terrace, perfect for a romantic evening watching the sunset with a glass of wine. The lounge/dinning room is very spacious and has a balcony leading onto the terrace. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with all the modern conveniences and a large breakfast table seating 6 for a lazy breakfast.

The house is located near the fashionable district of Garajau and Canico Centro. It is a perfect location to explore the surrounding areas, be it hiking in the levada walks, golfing, exploring the rural countryside, or visiting the natural beaches with its clear waters and pleasant temperatures. For those who want water slides the Santa Cruz Aqua Park is just a short distance by car. There is a good selection of restaurants, bars, patisseries and a bakery serving fresh bread daily. Canico Centro Shopping centre offers a supermarket and a variety of shops. The local hotels and bars offer a good selection of night life.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The rental rate for the property is £320.00 per week up to 5 people, for an additional person we charge an additional £20.00 per week. Long term renters are welcome. A 30% deposit must be paid to secure the booking and is non refundable after 6 weeks prior to departure. The balance must be paid 3 weeks prior to departure. In addition we charge a refundable deposit of £200.00 to cover breakables or damage. As soon as clearance has been given, the deposit will be returned. This should be paid upon your arrival to our representative by cheque or cash. Bookings within the 3 week period ought to be paid in full. Payment to be made in Sterling, unless otherwise specified, by bank transfer. Please note we are not responsible for bank transfer costs. Should you wish to cancel 2 weeks prior to your departure the rental rate is non refundable.
  • You will be met at the property upon your arrival and provided with a set of keys and familiarise you with the facilities.
    We hope your stay will be a pleasant one and we are readily available should you have any difficulties.

There are two superb golf courses within easy reach; the 18-hole championship Palheiro golf course and the 27-hole Santa da Serra golf course, both with spectacular views. The neighbouring island of Porto Santo has just opened a new golf course. Madeira known as the floating island offers plant lovers beautiful gardens; Botanical Gardens with its adjacent Orchid Garden, Palheiro Gardens and the Monte Palace. Madeira is a walker's paradise and Garajau/Canico is a good location from which to explore different parts of the island using the 'levadas' (paths running alongside man-built irrigation channels). Canico's Tourism Office located in Canico de Baixo will be able to offer information on guided walks available.

SWIMMING: the nearby Reis Magos with its blue flag and at Santa Cruz swimmers can enjoy the sea and pools, the new Santa Cruz Aqua Park with it's flumes, chutes, etc. Madeira offers natural beaches with crystal clear waters and pleasant temperatures. Other attractions on the Island include; The Madeira Story Centre located in the Old Town, Funchal. The Sao Vicente Caves and Volcanism Centre located in Sao Vicente. The Madeira Theme Park in Santana.

Madeira is full of festive dates throughout the year; Christmas & New Year - rich cultural and artistic with a specular fireworks display to welcome the new year in. FEBRUARY- Carnival. APRIL- Flower Festival. JUNE- Atlantic Festival, combining entertainment & culture. AUGUST - car rally, SEPTEMBER - Madeira wine festivities. October 14th - Regional Band Meeting held in Ponta Delgada Throughout the year there are numerous religious festivals taking place in the island's parishes. we was lucky enough to stay at this property for 12 days in june/july. it is as exactly as described on this site, the house was a pleasure to stay with a lovely clean kitchen and a choice of bedrooms and bathrooms and luxurious living area.
as we hired a car, the secure parking area was lovely and as for the balcony,well its as lovely as it looks on the pictures and more.
the house is in a very peaceful area with plenty of cafes,resturants and supermacados near by. it is situated in an ideal location for exploring the lovely island of madeira. we can highly recommend this property and found the owners lovely people to deal with.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

The property was very spacious, clean and tidy. It was very well equipped, I can't think of anything that wasn't provided. The views towards the sea were magnificent. The owners were pleasant to deal with, the booking process went smoothly.

I would recommend a car if you stay in this property as it seems to be at the foot of the steepest hill in the world! But everything is at the bottom or top of the steepest hill in the world in Maderia!

We enjoyed our ten day stay at the property and would recommend it for a family holiday. The location is ideal, halfway between Funchal and the airport, with easy access to the motorway for exploring the rest of the island.
Recommended for:  Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
