Villa Miradouro is located in Faja da Ovelha-Calheta south west coast of the Island, an area blessed with stunning unspoilt countryside, bird wild life (binoculars recommended) and quaint villages “Paul and Jardim do Mar”, it is a mere 15 minutes drive from the seaside resort of Calheta. The Villa is south facing with excellent exposure to the sunshine, offering spectacular panoramic views of a lighthouse, countryside, coastline and incredible sunset views. Guaranteed absolute tranquillity and relaxation. Completely renovated in 2004 in modern style with rustic features, tastefully furnished to a high standard. The Villa benefits from a swimming pool 10 x 5 metres with a heated shower, built-in BBQ with a large patio lit up for open-air dining. With an open-plan layout, the villa is spacious and offers maximum natural light, it also offers a furnished veranda and breakfast room both overlooking the sea.

Madeira described with expressive attributes such as “flower island” and “island of eternal spring” two thirds consists of protected areas with unique and versatile landscapes and nature, abundant with exotic and tropical flowers / fruits due to a mild climate even in midwinter. The villa stands at 50 minutes drive from the airport using express roads and finally through villages with sea view. Express roads with tunnels through mountains and bridges altogether with the recent construction of several new marinas along the coast has increased the popularity of the west side of the island. There are some popular restaurants / bars, mini market and a Bank with ATM nearby with a wider choice in Calheta. The city of Funchal (capital) offers entertaining nightlife, traditional / modern dining and shopping experience in newly built Malls. Notes to the rental rates

Rental rates are for 2 persons. For 3rd and 4th person it is £70 per person. Reservations: A 30% non-refundable deposit must accompany all bookings to obtain confirmation. Balance of rental is payable eight weeks before arrival date, further information will be given in our contract. A refundable deposit of £150 is required for damages, breakages, keys and remote control. We recommend our guests to take out travel insurance.

An appointed representative will meet and greet you on arrival to familiarise with the villa and surrounding area, she will be available should you encounter any difficulties. Guest and information book is available. Maid service provided three days per week. Meet and greet at the airport €60.00 (on request). Although a welcome pack will be provided, groceries shopping can be arranged on request (payable on arrival). Bookings can be organized for guided walks / excursions / deep-sea fishing / sport activities / typical Madeira nights with folklore / car rental and others independently with our representative. Special Features
For Bird life and Sea life enthusiasts we recommend our guests to pack a pair of binoculars. Dining room has a log fire for the winter season and additional oil filled radiators throughout. There is also a window seating area in the dining room looking out onto the entrance garden. By the pool side there is a heated shower. Outside of the barbecue there is a large lit patio with dining area for eight. The villa is fitted with an alarm system and electric remote control gates. The garden area consists of over 1400sqm and is illuminated throughout. Although the property consists of two floors, only the first floor is available for rental as the the ground floor is being used for storage.

Terrace Views = Lose yourself in imagination whilst snoozing on a hammock with tranquillity and sea view like no other, it really is the Atlantic Jewel. The privacy of the terrace and rear garden selfishly gives you this uniqueness all to one self. Barbecue = Dining alfresco is the perfect way to dine on your holiday, with a traditional local wood burning oven giving an authentic touch with all amenities to hand. A sitting area within the hut spills out onto open patio looking out to the garden and infinity sea view. Sunset = Sunset is a major feature at this villa. The exclusiveness of this property shares this view with no other and is truly breathtaking. This with a chilled bottle of Portuguese Rose will add the romance to the atmosphere, be sure to capture these moments in your photos.

Once off the main highway, and you've followed the winding roads through the hillside and the tunnels, you find the secluded private hilltop property of Villa Miradouro. The gardens are beautifully set on 3 levels ... we were spoilt for choice in an evening whether to watch the sea views from the rooftop terrace, the house top balcony, the swimming pool terrace, or the BBQ walled garden terrace. The attention to detail in the property is fabulous and everything was spotlessly clean, new and fresh - it was as if I'd walked into my own home, the views from the master bedroom balcony are simply stunning. Perfect for utter relaxation, cleanliness, privacy and luxurious comfort. You need a car here, as the island has so much to offer - but don't even think of going to Madeira if you want noise, crowded sandy beaches, childrens adventure parks, late night bars, nightlife or rowdy neighbours - it is none of these thankfully, but you have to be prepared for that, and this area lends itself to those that are looking for a quiet, refined holiday with great restaurants a short drive away, good day trips out, and all the luxury you could ever want in a stunning property. The pool is large and ideal for swimmers, rather than very young children. Our children were 5 and 7 but good swimmers which meant that they enjoyed the pool. Younger children would need constant watching.

Glad to hear that you and your family thoroughly enjoyed exploring Madeira and the luxury settings the Villa has to offer.
Although the pool is 10 Metres long, the first 2 Metres are at 90cm in height before it starts slopping towards the deeper end. In the property description we inform our renters that due to the pool and verandas for safety reasons we recommend parental supervision at all times where young children are concerned.
