Located halfway between the leafy hilltop village of Prazeres and the seaside resort of Calheta, the house has outstanding, uninterrupted sea and mountain views. Set in its own large mature gardens, the house has a private, solar heated swimming pool measuring 9 x 5 metres. There are extensive terraces lined with bougainvillea, and a BBQ with outdoor dining area. With a floor area of over 300 sq. m., the house is very spacious, and has been furnished to the highest contemporary standards. The lounge includes widescreen satellite TV (including Sky Sports channels), and 5.1 surround system to play your DVD’s and CD’s on. The master bedroom features its own private Jacuzzi, as well as an en-suite bathroom. The villa is ideally located for both Levada walking (signposted walks begin in Prazeres), or swimming at Calheta beach. There is a parking space for two cars.

Madeira has a superb subtropical climate, warm and sunny even in midwinter. Its gardens are renowned the world over for their profusion of subtropical blooms. Prazeres is in the south west of the island, famous for its pure air and tranquility. British Airways and TAP Air Portugal run scheduled flights to Funchal from Gatwick and Heathrow. There are many cheap charter flights to Funchal on mondays- look at websites like cheapflights ('destinations beginning with F').

We stayed here in April 2008 The villa is in a lovely setting with excellent views. Resturatants in the village where excellent. Good location for touring the island. My 4 year old granddaughter loved the pool. Recommend this villa to all ages. We aim to return to this excellent villa soon.

Great villa. Clean, light and practical. An ideal place to be with children in the age from 7 - 15. The pool is big and deep enough to play and swim in. The vieuws from the villa and garden are spectacular and it's so quiet, you can hear the flowers ask for water. Madeira is a lovely island and there are lots of things to see and do. But if you like to party every night and lay on the beach all day long, than it's not your island.

Villa situated in quiet area, gorgeous views.
Heated swimming pool used at least 6 hours a day,also at midnight for swimming under the stars.(lovely)
Rooms large and airy (a little t.l.c needed in kitchen) Villa
very clean and maintained,garden also well looked after.


Good area for exploring all of Madeira,Funchal about 50 mins away,Calheta 10 mins. The north of the island is also picturesque and worth a visit as well as the villages closer to Prazeres
Restaurants very good in all areas, particulary liked Ribero Brava(Luis), Prazeres, Jardim Atlantico and Chico's.
Directions to the villa from owner spot on,although steep incline to entrance took some getting used to.
Roads on the island better than led to believe from some reports on the internet. Would thoroughly recommend property to relatives and friends.
We were looking for somewhere to chillout and also to explore and found ideal place at Casa Zen.
