Located halfway between the leafy hilltop village of Prazeres and the seaside resort of Calheta, the house has outstanding, uninterrupted sea and mountain views. Set in its own large mature gardens, the house has a private, solar heated swimming pool measuring 9 x 5 metres. There are extensive terraces lined with bougainvillea, and a BBQ with outdoor dining area. With a floor area of over 300 sq. m., the house is very spacious, and has been furnished to the highest contemporary standards. The lounge includes widescreen satellite TV (including Sky Sports channels), and 5.1 surround system to play your DVD’s and CD’s on. The master bedroom features its own private Jacuzzi, as well as an en-suite bathroom. The villa is ideally located for both Levada walking (signposted walks begin in Prazeres), or swimming at Calheta beach. There is a parking space for two cars.

Madeira has a superb subtropical climate, warm and sunny even in midwinter. Its gardens are renowned the world over for their profusion of subtropical blooms. Prazeres is in the south west of the island, famous for its pure air and tranquility. British Airways and TAP Air Portugal run scheduled flights to Funchal from Gatwick and Heathrow. There are many cheap charter flights to Funchal on mondays- look at websites like cheapflights ('destinations beginning with F').
