A modern and fully furnished apartment in the unspoilt seaside village of Foz do Arelho, approximately 50 miles north of Lisbon. A true Portuguese village, with safe bathing within walking distance. Views over the Óbidos lagoon. A small, private group of apartments, owned by permanent residents as well as a few being used as holiday apartments.

Foz do Arelho is a small, typically Portuguese seaside village: it is still relatively undeveloped. There are restaurants and bars both on the beach and in the village. The village is on the mouth of the Óbidos Lagoon - close to the working market town of Caldas da Rainha and the ancient walled town of Óbidos. History and Excursions: Foz is within easy striking distance of Caldas da Rainha, Óbidos, Nazaré, São Martinho do Porto, Alcobaça and Batalha. Within easy day-tripping distance are Lisbon, Sintra, Fátima, Santarem and Coimbra. A train service runs from Caldas to Lisbon. The area is rich in history and is not yet developed and “internationalised” like the Algarve. Foz has a choice of beaches: on the Atlantic side is a shelving sandy beach with rollers, ideal for strong swimmers and surfers. The lagoon side has sheltered family bathing, ideal for sun-bathing and for children.

Notes: 3 Double bedrooms (1 double bed, 2 single). Comfortably accommodates 2 - 6 people. Large, comfortable lounge/diner. Fully fitted kitchen with washing machine. 2 balconies, and views over the lagoon. Private grounds with barbecue area. The swimming pool in the grounds is for the private use of residents, and during the summer it may be used by our guests whenever it has been prepared for swimming. Fully equipped with all household requirements and bed linen. Hand towels provided: no beach/pool towels supplied. This small block of apartments is residential in nature: 3 families (plus pets) live there permanently, which assures security. The other apartments are used by Portuguese as holiday homes.

Golf: Opened in 1997, the Praia d’el Rey Golf Club was built to championship standard. With wide fairways and spectacular views, it has been described as “one of the best in Portugal”. A 9 - hole course exists at Praia de Consolação. Both are 20-25 minutes away.

Bathing: Foz has a choice of beaches: on the Atlantic side is a shelving sandy beach with rollers, ideal for strong swimmers and surfers. The lagoon side has sheltered family bathing, ideal for sun-bathing and for children.
