Very charming flat in the old part of Lisbon (Graça) with high 'sculpted' ceilings, original wood floor and panoramic views looking down the city and the castle of San Jorge. The flat has 4 bedrooms,(with an extra double sofa bed if necessary) and 1 living room. It also has a closed garden (safe for children) with grass, fruit trees and where you can seat in the end of the day with a glass of wine. Kitchen fully equipped and linen is available. Ideal for a couple and 3 adults /children (the price stated is for 4 people). The apartment is located in the middle of the historical centre of Lisbon, 2 minutes walk from Alfama and the castle of San Jorge. Close to shops, restaurants and services such as banks, public transport, taxis and a post office. E-mail us for more information and/or map. The whole flat in is inside a closed villa within the historical centre of Lisbon. So safe for children to play unsupervised and quiet. We have advertised in this site since 98.

Notes: The flat has a garden, a rare luxury in the middle of the city, where you can seat in the end of the day with a glass of wine or just lay down on the grass. There are fruit trees (figs and oranges) and because it is an interior garden (within a patio which is also closed from the outside) it's separated from the street and so safe for children beside being normally quiet. Lot of birds in the morning make breakfast in the garden very pleasant.

This apartment is not just a place to sleep : The apartment is in the historical part of Lisbon and has all those special characteristics that made houses in this part of town so appealing. It is spacious with high ceilings, floors in wood and a beautiful view. It has two entrances , one is a ground floor where the entrance is made through a small group of gardens that is closed to the exterior by a gate what allows us to seat in the garden listening to the birds (and if it is September picking up figs directly from the tree) feeling anywhere but in the middle of the city.

The area's feeling - : The flat is located at the top of one of the seven hills of Lisbon and as result have a fantastic view over the city. The castle of San Jorge illuminated at night is a vision to remember. Two streets away (5 minutes walk) is the unique environment of the famous flea market of Lisbon : “feira da ladra” where bric-a-brac, clothes and antiques are sold every Tuesday and Saturday. The region where the flat is localised, Graca, is an area of small streets full of typical restaurants that for a cheap price can provide a delicious meal. June is the month when the city's saint anniversary is celebrated and the best time to experience the famous 'latin' spirit.

A safe area with a bohemian atmosphere - : The area has a bohemian atmosphere and has several bars and cafes with open spaces where live music happens in the night. Still is a very safe area where people can walk in the night. The flat is 2 minutes walk from the medieval buildings of Alfama, the oldest part of Lisbon and within walking distance from commerce, restaurants and services such as banks, public transports, taxis and the post office. Perfect flat in perfect area of Lisbon

We (two parents and 5 children) had a wonderful stay in this very charming flat. The view is fantastic and we enjoyed the garden very much. Also, the neighbourhood is great with lots of small restaurants, shops, cafes etc. All practical arrangements with the owner went smoothly, and there were even helpfull "assistants" next door who kindly ordered taxis etc for us. Within easy walking distance (10-15 minutes) to "down-town" Lisbon, and trams just around the corner.
Highly recommended for everybody who loves Lisbon.

Perfect for our needs. Lovely part of the city to be in but also great for exploring Alfama and elsewhere. Great having a garden to relax in. Owner and people in Lisbon were very helpful throughout. Will recommend to friends/family.

Ideal Family Apartment

Usually we use Sheraton or Westin hotels, as we where taking our 4 year old grandson for a short holiday, we opted for an apartment which meant a little more freedom.
The arrangements for our arrival were excellent, within half an hour we where in the apartment (cab took us straight to the door). The couple meeting us were very helpful and did not leave until they were completely satisfied we knew everything applicable.
The apartment was excellent, he enjoyed every minute. Daily we took a morning walk down to the Centre (one morning we did take the number 28 tram which he also really enjoyed). From the Centre we did numerous trips, zoo, oceanerio, cable cars, sight seeing tram, all ideal for our grandson and ourselves.
Normally we chose to eat at one of the numerous restaurants in the Centre which have great selections, however, we never missed a night at the open air restaurant just around the corner from the apartment to enjoy a glass of wine. The people here are very friendly and helpful.
The shops and supermarket local to the apartment are very good and helpful.
Security in the local area was fine, we did notice however, on two occassions whilst in the Centre, pickpockets at large, you just have to be aware and you do not have a problem.
Overall a really enjoyable stay and ideal with children, although with young children you do have to be careful with some of the narrow pavements.

Lovely apartment on top of a hill in Graca. Big rooms and all the facilities you need. Off the road through a gate and so felt very safe with all the neighbours around us. The passport handover etc was no problem at all and our contact in Lisbon was perfect. 2 mins from the apartment is a great outdoor cafe with views looking over the city. If you want to eat cheap and meet the locals turn left out of the apartment walk 10 meters and there is a lovely place on the corner on the left down 3 steps. The tram to down town in 5 mins walk away or, you can take a walk through the old town. Highly recommended. Ilesh, Per, Dave, Jonny and Ruudi.
