Very charming flat in the old part of Lisbon with high 'sculpted' ceilings, original wood floor and panoramic views looking down the city and the castle of San Jorge. The flat has 4 bedrooms, 1 living room(with an extra double sofa bed if necessary). It also has a closed garden (safe for children) with grass, fruit trees and where you can seat in the end of the day with a glass of wine. Kitchen fully equipped and linen is available. Ideal for a couple and 3 adults /children (the price stated is for 4 people). The apartment is located in the middle of the historical centre of Lisbon, 2 minutes walk from Alfama and the castle of San Jorge. Close to shops, restaurants and services such as banks, public transport, taxis and a post office. Notes:

The flat has a garden, a rare luxury in the middle of the city, where you can seat in the end of the day with a glass of wine or just lay down on the grass. There are fruit trees (figs and oranges) and because it is an interior garden (within a patio which is also closed from the outside) it's separated from the street and so safe for children beside being normally quiet. Lot of birds in the morning make breakfast in the garden very pleasant.

This apartment is not just a place to sleep

The apartment is in the historical part of Lisbon and has all those special characteristics that made houses in this part of town so appealing. It is spacious with high ceilings, floors in wood and a beautiful view. It has two entrances , one is a ground floor where the entrance is made through a small group of gardens that is closed to the exterior by a gate what allows us to seat in the garden listening to the birds (and if it is September picking up figs directly from the tree) feeling anywhere but in the middle of the city.

The area's feeling -

The flat is located at the top of one of the seven hills of Lisbon and as result have a fantastic view over the city. The castle of San Jorge illuminated at night is a vision to remember. Two streets away (5 minutes walk) is the unique environment of the famous flea market of Lisbon : “feira da ladra” where bric-a-brac, clothes and antiques are sold every Tuesday and Saturday. The region where the flat is localised, Graca, is an area of small streets full of typical restaurants that for a cheap price can provide a delicious meal. June is the month when the city's saint anniversary is celebrated and the best time to experience the famous 'latin' spirit.

A safe area with a bohemian atmosphere -

The area has a bohemian atmosphere and has several bars and cafes with open spaces where live music happens in the night. Still is a very safe area where people can walk in the night. The flat is 2 minutes walk from the medieval buildings of Alfama, the oldest part of Lisbon and within walking distance from commerce, restaurants and services such as banks, public transports, taxis and the post office. A spacious apartment in a fascinating part of Lisbon. The apartment was well set up with cookng equipment, linen etc for an extended stay. The area itself is so interesting and gives the visitor an insight into local life. Our group of 5 Australians had a wonderful tme. Julie..
