The central position of Quinta das Acacias exposes unreserved access to the visitor that seeks a world of discovery. An 8 km drive to the center of Ponta Delgada will expose several botanical gardens dating back to mid 19th century. Centuries old architecture of basalt stone, traditional markets, quaint shops in narrow streets with cobblestone designs, sidewalk cafes and the numerous restaurants that will help the visitor taste this travelling experience. Populo beach with its clean waters and warm temperature is only 3 km to the south. To the west, one will find the legendary twin lakes of Sete Cidades. To the east, the hills of Nordeste displays an almost rain forest appeal. Beyond, villages with timeless traditions line the coast that so often is bathed by some of the most spectacular sunrises of the Atlantic. TO BOOK: A 30% deposit must be paid at the time of booking with the balance due 4 weeks prior to arrival date. If a booking is made within 6 weeks of arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking. All payments must be in the euro currency. Payments can be made by bank transfer. SCHEDULE: Check in time is 3:00 pm on arrival date and check out time is 12:00 pm on departure day. In the event you arrive before this time, or you would like to store your belongings after you have vacated, you may store your belongings in the proprietor´s house facilities.

To visit Sao Miguel, known as the Ilha Verde (Green island), is also to discover a natural world that seems to have been hidden for a reason or purpose. The close proximity of attractions are easily accessible, however, to observe and admire it, will prolong your stay indefinitely. Nurtured by nature and time, one will find the crater lakes of Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo (Fire Lake) and Lagoa das Furnas (Furnas Lake). For any traveller, there is no shortage of activities, including hiking trails, black sand beaches and warm waters, natural pools, and thermal pools that soak away any kind of blues.

There are two golf courses on the island. Both equally spectacular, scenic-wise and challenge-wise. The Batalha course supports a 27 hole, par 72. Approximate distance 12 km or 15 minute drive. The Furnas course is an 18 hole, par 72. Approximate distance 35 km or 45 minute drive.

My fiance and I have just returned from a week stay at the Quinta and cannot think of a better place to stay. The property is fantastically maintained and the cottages are immaculate. There's a full stove, refrigerator, microwave & every other appliance one could need to have a home-cooked meal or prepare a nice breakfast before a full day of sight seeing.
The property owners go above & beyond to make their guests have a vacation that best suits their needs- such as arranging a taxi, recommending tours, and even restaurants. They even have the property lit until midnight so that guests can enjoy a nice glass of wine while taking a stroll under the stars.
I would without a doubt recommend Quinta das Acacias to anyone looking for a quaint place to call home while on holiday- the property itself is a mini-paradise.
