Recently converted cottage with family shared swimming pool, available for weekends and short term lets. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, dining room, kitchen and private terrace. Situated in beautiful countryside of cork trees, olive groves and vineyards, on the foothills of the Serra D’ Ossa 20 km south of Estremoz. Ideal for sight seeing in a scenic and historic part of Portugal and within easy reach by motorway of Lisbon (2 hours) and Spain (1 hour), the farm itself offers good opportunities for country walks, bird watching and quiet country life. We have some excellent bicycles for rent and Historical tours of Evora can also be arranged through a private guide.

We spent a wonderful 5 weeks at Herdade da Maroteira - exploring the vineyards, the cork and olive trees, "walking" the dogs, observing the birds, sheep, goats and chickens, and relishing the scenery.
The cottage is clean, well-maintained and very comfortable with everything provided - just like home! The location is perfect to explore the Alentejo region; along with visits to Lisbon, the Algarve and the Douro Valley.
Our hosts were very friendly, warm, sincere and extremely helpful. We felt very welcome and comfortable at Herdade da Maroteira with its peaceful and breathtaking scenery.
Our only regret was we had to return home after 5 weeks of peace, tranquility and warm bliss.
Thank you to Philip, Margarida, Mafalda, Bea and all for making our holiday wonderful and a dream come true!
