The Resort:
This spacious THREE BEDROOM apartment is situated in an attractive landscaped setting on the GROUND FLOOR adjacent to the HEATED POOL (April - October. Equipped & furnished to a high standard the unspoilt beach is just a short walk away.
Praia del Rey Resort is located less than an hours drive from Lisbon airport on the A8.
LISBON has all the museums, shopping and night-life you would expect of a thriving capital city. The resort is situated on the unspoilt West Coast between the ancient towns of Obidos and Peniche.
OBIDOS dating from 300 BC is a very attractive medieval walled town with narrow streets and bougainvillaea covered houses leading to the castle at the top of the hill. There are some very good restaurants within the walls of the city.
PENICHE is a picturesque working fishing port with a 16th century fortress, museum and excellent inexpensive seafood restaurants and where day trips to the Berlengas islands (a national park) can be taken in summer (May to Sept).
Golf:
Please note Minimum Handicap Requirements: Men: 28, Ladies: 36, Handicap certificate required. Cabell B Robinson designed the stunning 18 hole Championship Golf Course now ranked No. 1 in Portugal by Peugeot's 2003 Guide and 13th best in Europe by Golf World. The course has spectacular views over the Atlantic. Tee off times can be arranged in advance at Praia d'El Rey and there are at least 10 other quality 18 hole courses nearby. The Praia d'El Rey course is rigorously maintained to ensure excellent condition throughout the year. There is a pro-shop, driving range, and PGA tutors available to offer personal lessons to improve your game. It is set in extensive grounds of pine forest and undulating dunes with spectacular views over the Atlantic coast and the Berlenga Islands beyond. The course is visually stunning and tremendously exciting to play.
Resort and activities :
Situated amongst pine woods and sand dunes with two & a half kilometres of sandy beach frontage, the Praia D'El Rey Golf & Country Club is an ideal base to enjoy many of the leisure facilities this five star resort has to offer. These include the 18 hole championship golf course, driving range and clubhouse with bar, lounge and games room. The tennis centre has seven all weather multisport courts. A children's activity playground is also located near the clubhouse. Water sports, including surfing and sea fishing locally, with the opportunity to windsurf, paraglide, sail & paddle in the more tranquil waters of the lagoon (ideal for very small children), in neighbouring Obidos. Horse riding & mountain bike hire can be booked & there are countryside & cliff top paths along the unspoilt coastline.
