Notes to the rental rates

• Rental rates are payable six weeks in advance, with a deposit of 30% to secure booking.
  £100 deposit is required against any damage/breakages which will be returned within two weeks of your stay.
  Welcome food pack provided, weekly clean and linen change if staying more than ten days.
  
• This is our own holiday apartment and we request that you do not smoke inside the apartment.
  There is a fully equipped modern kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine. Large barbecue outside with garden furniture, lots of lawned area for outside sunbathing and large terrace for outside eating.

How to get there

The nearest airport is Lisbon via scheduled flights from Heathrow and Gatwick by BA and TAP and Monark. EasyJet have daily fights to Lisbon from Luton. Booking early usually gets you the best rates. Book car via internet before arrival if you can. The Praia D'El Rey resort is approx 50 minutes drive from the airport, mostly all the way on the A8 motorway. The apartment is located quite near to the resort entrance, towards the end of a quiet cul de sac, allocated parking to the front of the apartment. Car hire recommended.

Golf Information

This is an awesome course and its reputation is growing, identified by Golf World magazine as the leading Portuguese course and 13th best in Europe. The course has spectacular views over the Atlantic and is tremendously exciting to play because of the endless variations of terrain, set amongst pine trees and sand dunes. There is a driving range with long and short game practice areas and practice putting greens, clubs, trolleys and buggies are available to hire at the pro shop. This is not a course for absolute beginners (handicap certificates may be requested). The club house has a bar serving snacks/meals and there is a splendid a la carte restaurant. There are two other first class courses within 30-45 minutes drive - Quinta do Brincal at Rio Maior and Campo Real near Tores Vedras.

Local Attractions

Within 15 minutes drive are the medieval town of Obidos and the fishing port of Peniche. Obidos is a must to visit with narrow cobbled streets, lined with whitewashed houses, little shops and plenty of small restaurants. 10 minutes further than Obidos is the quaint town of Caldas Da Rainha with shops and daily markets. Try Peniche for fish restaurants, boat hire and scuba diving, with Furninha nearby and well worth a visit. Or how about a days shopping and sightseeing in Lisbon, each year in June the streets come alive with feasts in honour of popular saints. Its worth considering booking a taxi for the day, depending how confident you feel about driving in the city. Baleal Beach is one of the most popular for families, here you can get surfing lessons too. Or the 8km sandy Obidos lagoon provides a more tranquil location for windsurfing, swimming or sailing (more suitable for children). There truly is something for everyone in this unspoilt region of Portugal.
