Lisbon is the closest airport to Praia d'El Rey and has British Airways ,TAP and Monarch servicing it from the UK

The journey from Lisbon Airport is at the most 1 hour - most of it on a motorway

The 5* Marriott Hotel:
Around 10 minutes walk, over looking the beach is the brand new palacial 5* Marriott Hotel.
There is a choice of 5 restaurants ranging from a snack by the outdoor pool to a full a la carte menu, with a range of fine Portuguese wines.
The al-fresco terrace bar has a genuine local market feeling to it, with buffets, BBQ's and live entertainment.
There is also live evening entertainment in the Atlantico Bar - where cocktails are served with breathtaking views over the ocean.
It also has a fully equipped gym as well as indoor pool and jacuzzi. Daily usage is payable at the hotel - approx 10€ per person per day
Beach activities and nearby attractions:
The beaches are beautiful and the resort is blessed with 5 miles of unspoilt sand. The area is reputed to have the best surfing conditions in Europe and a lot of surfers can be seen around Baleal and Peniche.
Obidos Lagoon about 5 mins drive north is sheltered from the sea and has many watersports activities - windsurfing, canoeing, etc and all equipment and lessons are available.
In the summer months there is a large Water Park at Peniche.
Diving is also popular around the Berlenga Islands - just off the coast from Peniche.
Places to visit - there are loads, as this is a historic region of Portugal with lots of culture on offer :-
Obidos - Ancient Walled City dating from 300BC - worth visiting a bar on the cobbled streets and climbing the wall.
Peniche Peninsula - well worth a walk along the cliff tops aspecially on a rough day - the waves are spectacular.
Alcobaca, Sintra and Mafra are all historic towns a short drive away - and Lisbon is certainly worth a day trip.
Golf:
This stunning 18 hole Championship Golf Course is ranked No. 1 in Portugal by Peugeot's 2003 Guide and 13th best in Europe by Golf World. The course has spectacular views over the Atlantic.
Tee off times can be arranged in advance at Praia d'El Rey and there are at least 10 other quality 18 hole courses nearby, ensuring there is more than enough to fill a 2 week golfing trip.
The Praia d'El Rey course is rigorously maintained to ensure excellent condition throughout the year.
There is a pro-shop, driving range, and PGA tutors available to offer personal lessons to improve your game. Please note you do require an official handicap.
