Photos and Description of this Baleal holiday house 4 Bedrooms, 3 minutes to the beach and 5 minutes drive to Praia D'el Ray golf

Holiday rental, self catering 4 bedroom 4 shower/bathroom house, sleeps 8 people, in stunning location with beautiful views of Baleal Beach which is a surfers paradise, lifeguard protected in summer. Farm land and fields all around, the local bar is only 2 minutes away which has large TV screens for all the live football with snooker tables and internet access. We have a barbeque area in the garden, table tennis,and garden furniture. Lots or crockery and cutlery to cater for 8 people. 5 minutes drive away is Praia Del Ray which boasts the 2nd best golf course in Europe. Our attic room has 3 single beds and a double futon, with loads of room to spare, it is great for kids with its own shower / WC room and the best views of Baleal beach and beyond right across to Peniche. The other 3 bedrooms have 3 king size beds. One bedroom has an en suite shower room and the other two share the family bath/shower. Horse riding is 5 minutes away in San Bernadino. Peniche beach does kite sufing, scary!

Great golden sand surfing beaches at Baleal, Peniche and Supertubos with lots of surf camps to learn to surf safely. Kite surfing has also become extremely popular at Peniche beach. Golf at Praia del Ray, 18 hole par 72 Championship Course, part woodland and part links, voted 2nd best in Europe. Near by is Obidos Lagoon and ancient beautiful Obidos world heritage Town. If you enjoy shopping visit Caldas da Rainha with it's daily traditional market and mixture of modern shops and boutiques, or near by Peniche with lots of great restaurants/ bars serving food and fantastic local wines at unbeatable prices. There's a riding school in San Bernadino, 5 minutes away. The 5 star Marriott Hotel at Praia d'el Ray has a large indoor and outdoor pool. Between Baleal and Peniche is a large water park for lots of family fun. Going further away from Baleal towards Lisbon is Sintra with it's beautiful Palaces and Moorish Castle and so much wonderful history which makes it very magical to visit.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A 50 pounds deposit is required when booking is confirmed, either postal by cheque Stirling or euro amount (I now live in Portugal so have a euro account) and the remaining money we can discuss on booking, arrangements will be different depending on what country you are coming from. Also a £100 damages deposit is required and that will be returned back to the guest once the cleaner has been in to the house and checked everything is OK and let me know this. If the person booking lives in Europe they can also transfer the money to my Euro Account.
    If the booking is canceled once confirmed £50 per booking week will be lost. If the people don't arrive once booked they will forfeit their deposit because I would have no time to rebook other guests.
  • I am also renting out my next door neighbours house 'Casa Luisa' for her. Her set up is very similar to mine but her property style is more traditional Portuguese. She has 5 bedrooms with one down stairs great for some one not able to get up stairs.

  • From January 2009 I will not just be renting out my house but also my next door neighbours 'Casa Luisa'. Her house is the same as mine in size but is slightly more traditional in look. But it actually has a 5th bedroom down stairs which is great if some one has trouble with the stairs, that also has a shower room opposit.

Notes: The house would be suitable for wheelchair users because they can enter and exit through the patio doors and there is a down stairs shower and toilet but some body would have to bring the futon mattress downstairs (Now I am also renting my neighbours 'Casa Luisa' with down stairs bedroom and shower) to make it completely comfortable because the stairs might be hard to tackle if someone has no mobility at all. The Dinning room table does only seat six but we have the garden table with directors chairs which can be added if needed to make up to 8 people, but it's so cheap to eat out especially compared to English prices why eat in! A small dog would be considered suitable but guests would have to make sure they cleaned up behind their animal and not leave any mess in the garden.

About 40 minutes away is Vimeiro at the Hotel Golfe Mar near the beach of Praia de Porto Novo, it's an excellent course for the beginner, opened in 1963. Holes:2x9, Par:67 Also about 40 minutes away is Quinta do Brincal in Rio Major. It's a par 72 Golden Eagle course. Holes: 18 hole woodland Opened in 1994 Grass type: Fairways, Penn Eagle. Greens, Penncross. Green Fee 18 holes: €45.00 Monday to Friday, €55.00 weekends. Buggy €32.50 Lessons: €22.50 About 40 minutes in the direction of Lisbon is Oitavos at Quinta da Marinha which opended in 2001, Penha Longa Atlantico and Belas.
