Notes to the rental rates

• Rates include POOL HEATING, JACUZZI HEATING, WELCOME PACK, gas and electricity
  A non-refundable 25% deposit secures your booking; the balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival. In addition a security deposit of £200 is added to your final payment to cover any breakages. This will be refunded within 7 days after the end of your rental period.

Apart form golf the area offers numerous sporting/leisure activities many of which are detailed here:- Obidos Lagoon - Windsurfing and sailing is available nearby at the Water Sports Club on Obidos Lagoon. Surfing - This area of the Atlantic Coast offers some of the best surfing in Europe. Diving - As well as offering fabulous scenery and fauna Berlengas Islands have an incredible natural scenery with calm and crystalline waters that are renowned for diving. Tennis(7 courts) - Praia Del Rey offers one of the regions best Tennis Centres with a total of 7 courts. Equipment is available to hire as well as instruction if required. Courts can be hired on a one off basis/through the use of an unlimited play card. Karting - Is available at nearby Bombarral on a good circuit. Spa - Located at the 5* Marriott Hotel offering fantastic treatments for men and women. Water Slide Park, Peniche – Open during the summer the park offers various slides and pool.

The Beach

The beach at Praia Del Rey is spectacular and is regarded as one of the most scenic stretches of coastline in Europe. Very often deserted it offers stunning views across to the Berlengas Islands and benefits from a pleasant breeze throughout summer. A lifeguard is on duty (seasonal). There is safer swimming available close by at the Obidos lagoon which is particularly suited to smaller children. Baleal a few minutes drive offers safe bathing for children and great surfing all year round.

Flights/Car Hire/Access

Lisbon is well served by the scheduled airlines and is beginning to attract the low cost airlines as well. Easyjet now fly daily from London Luton & Liverpool Monarch fly daily from Gatwick BMI BABY fly from Birmingham Lisbon is also served form the London airports with BA offering 5 flights per day from Heathrow some of which start from just over £100 return. Further flights are provided by the likes of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa, Alitalia and Air France. Flights take approximately 2hrs 30 minutes. Faro is an alternative airport offering cheap flights many with the low-cost carriers. Praia Del Rey is an approximate 3 hour drive from Faro (220 miles) with nearly the entire journey along under utilised motorways. Easyjet fly hear from many UK airports Porto is another alternative airport and is about a 2 1/2 hour journey (190 miles. Ryanair fly here from both Liverpool and Stanstead)

Golf Information:

The golf course at Praia Del Rey is located between the stunning Atlantic coast and the extensive pinewoods. The par 72, 6467 yard course has already become established as one of the very best in Europe. The course has recently been voted 80th BEST in the WORLD (Golf World). Both Golf World (13th BEST COURSE in Continental EUROPE) and Peugeot Golf Guide (BEST COURSE in PORTUGAL) have rated it extremely highly. The course also offers a high quality golf academy including driving range, short game practice area and is always in great condition with lush fairways and well manicured greens. The Clubhouse is one of the pride and joys of Praia Del Rey. With a lovely setting overlooking the 10th fairway it offers a relaxing and attractive lounge/bar area together with a restaurant. The terrace to the clubhouse is very often used for enjoyable barbecues that are enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. Although we feel you will never get bored with golf at Praia Del Rey there are numerous other good courses in the Lisbon area. Indeed The International Golf Travel Awards recently voted the whole Lisbon Golf Coast as established golf destination of the year 2003. There are numerous other good courses in the area with Belas, Golden Eagle and the new CampoReal. Whilst further a field are the delights of Penha Longa, Aroeira 1 and 2, Quinta Marinha and Quinta do Peru. Our particular favourites are Oitavos (expensive but fabulous course) and Troia (worth the ferry boat journey).
