Ideally situated only five minutes walk from the beach of Nazare, this house has four large bedrooms plus a spare room with a bunk bed, a spacious living room, a nice kitchen and a roof terrace with view of the beach. Here you can sit and watch the sun go down, have a barbeque or just relax and enjoy the view. The house has two bathrooms and a private parking spot inside a locked garage. The living room has a dining area and a sitting area with a fire place. From the dining room table there is a nice view over Nazare. Nazare is an idyllic fishing village, and although many tourists enjoy the beach and restaurants, it is still a proper town, not a tourist resort. A short drive away is the Praia del Ray golf course, the medieval town of Obidos and several kilometres of virtually untouched beaches. Nearby is also a brand new waterpark with pools and water slides.

Nazare is an idyllic fishing village with about 15 000 inhabitants. The oldest part, Sitio, is placed on top of a 100 meter cliff, the main Nazare centre is on the beach below. In Sitio, there is a large water park with water slides and pools for small as well as bigger children. From Nazare it is about 20-30 minutes drive to the Praia del Ray golf park and the surfing paradise of Peniche. In the town of Nazare, there are many nice restaurants, specializing in seafood and traditional Portuguese food. If you prefer home cooking, there is a large market open every morning, that sells vegetables, fish and meat from local producers. The beach of Nazare is well known for its beauty, and Nazare also has a marina with boats for rent. The area around Nazare has many scenic walks, and to the north and south of the town, the beach is virtually untouched for several kilometres. The small roads along the coast are excellent for bicycle rides, not too hilly, but with breathtaking views.

Notes: The roof terrace has a large table which seats 12 people. The kitchen has ample work space and a table that seats six people. The living room has a nice fire place providing heat and comfort in the winter. All bathrooms are heated with central heating. The house is situated on a walkway, three houses up from the street. At the street level, there is a garage shared by five houses. Included in the rent is a space for one car.

Things to do: While in Nazare, there are several options for activities. Surfing is popular, both off the Nazare beach and further sout in Peniche. The nearby midieval town of Obidos may be the most beautiful village in Portugal. The Obidos lagoon is famous for it's beautiful views. If you prefer long solitary walks, just head north and you have 30 km of beaches and pine forest almost to yourself. You can also rent a bike and benefit from miles of bicycle paths along the coast. With a car, you can visit the Grutas Mira de Aire, a well preserved system of stalactic caves made available to tourists. No climbing skills necessary, there is a well prepared path through the cave. The tourist office in Nazare can also help with many more suggestions. Every friday morning, there is a large market selling clothes, towels, kitchen utensils and almost anything else you may need just at the southern side of the main road entering the town.
