This property is ideal for family parties who like to discover untapped, unspoilt holiday spots. As there are two units - a main house for 6 and a bungalow for 4 - so for larger groups you can holiday together but still have your own space. As you enter the property by the gate, ahead of you is a marbled patio with a garden to the left, the main house to the right and the bungalow straight ahead. The main house has a downstairs that sleeps 4 and a separate apartment, reached by the stairs immediately to the right of the gates, that sleeps 2. On the other side of the main house is a games room with pool table and dart board. There is another garden between the far end of the main house and behind the bungalow. The gardens have beautiful flowering plants and the requisite lemon trees - for the 'ice and a slice'

The bungalow is set within the garden of the property, outside the front door is an orange and a lemon tree - very handy at 'Tiffin' time. The kitchen, dining and living areas are open plan. The living area has an open fireplace. A dining area with table and chairs for 4. There are two bedrooms with double beds

Nearest Beach: beach at 7.0 Kilometres

The property lies between the Atlantic coast and the hills of the Serra do Cercal. An excellent feel for the location can be obtained from Google Earth at 37o45’31.9”N 8o44’13.11”W. There are cove beaches nearby, such as Porto Covo and Zambujeira and long stretches of beach at Santo Andre. Vila Nova de Milfontes is a 10 minute drive away, an attractive resort town situated at the mouth of the River Mira. The coastal strip that runs from the port of Sines down to Cape de São Vicente is within the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina and so it is not an over developed area, quite the opposite, a real find. As would be thought for an Atlantic coastal area, it offers sailing, surfing, diving and fishing. Inland there are plenty of opportunities for horse riding, walking, cycling and bird watching. As a car is essential, this extends your sight seeing opportunities and makes it possible to organise a trip to Lisbon, golfing in the Algarve.

Date of stay: September 2008 - It was the most perfect small house, for our holiday, simple and perfect with all the necessary facilities. It is excellent for indoors activities as well as for sitting outside in the garden with view over the peaceful landscape

The nearby village provides with good restaurants with lovely seafood not to mention the beautiful beaches. I already have recommended the place and the house to my friends and I sure hope to come back myself.

The service of the owner and the contact person was excellent. The property was clean and confortable. The house was easy to find as we followed to the guiding, we got in advance.

We stayed in the smaller bungalow, and enjoyed the quiet rural setting, and yet were close enough to the lovely little town of Vila Nova Milfontes. The nearby Praia Malhao is a wonderful unspoilt gem, mainly BECAUSE access is not that easy, and it lacks the usual beachfront cafes, car parks and toilets etc!! The bungalow was adequately equipped, and has a certain rustic charm, although a little more attention to detail (window screens didn't fit well and let in mosquitoes at night, and garden needed attention) would have enhanced our overall experience.
