One of THE most historic areas of the city, Belém offers almost too much - both of Lisbon's World Heritage Sites, Jerónimos Monastery and the Torre de Belém, the Presidents palace with guardsmen decked out in 19th C' uniforms, a unique coach museum and a world class maritime museum. There is the famous Pasteis de Belém cafe, a whole row of interesting restaurants set in 16th C' buildings, the Belém Cultural centre with its exhibitions and concerts, the planetarium, and botanical gardens. The Tagus river runs under the bridge that looks like the Golden gate presided over by the Christ the King statue, you might catch a glimpse of the QE2 or the QM2 as they sail out to sea. Sail boats and regattas leave and return to the nearby marinas and the electric train line takes you along the rivers edge to Estoril, Cascais or just to the many wide sandy beaches of the Portuguese Riviera. Here, where the most western part of Europe meets the sea, is where you've got to be.

3 NIGHT STAY MINIMUM. RATES QUOTED 1-2 PEOPLE, EMAIL for price quote for 3-4 & 5-6 PERSONS. A non returnable deposit of 30% required to secure booking, full payment due 8 weeks before arrival. When staying longer than 7 days a 10% reduction will be applied, 20% when longer than a month. For last minute bookings, stays of 3 nights & reservations less than one month in advance will have to be paid immediately in full. Rates are all inclusive, there are not additional fees for utilities, cleaning or taxes. Maid service once a week, bed linen and towels changed weekly. Security deposit against breakages is €100, returned on departure. Check-in after 4pm, check-out before 10am. We can be flexible about arrival time if you send us your travel schedule well in advance. Changeover day flexible. Consider purchasing travel insurance for protection against losses due to emergency change-of-plans. Rates and availability subject to change without notice.

Notes
The villa is on ground level with only one of the bedrooms up a flight of inside stairs making it very suitable for seniors or people with mobility problems. East facing to the street there is however a private sunny atrium with patio table, chairs and parasol for outdoor living. Furnished with a mixture of antique pieces plus comfortable beds and seating, the villa boasts all the modern amenities to make your stay comfortable. Transport is very easy with the modern tram and buses to the centre of the city from stops just outside the villa. A car is definitely not necessary, but street parking, and nearby car-park are free, if you wish to take advantage of villas great setting with its easy access that avoids the inner city traffic to the main roads South over the bridge, the Portuguese Riviera, Sintra and beyond. Sr Filip the owner of the restaurant in-front who speaks English is on hand if you need any help in an emergency.

Great place!Excellent location,very good for travelling with kids, near parks and playgrounds.Very easy access to downtown by trams and buses.We really had great time and loved Lisbon,also it was really cheap to get around to get to train stations and venture outside of city.Owners are very nice people and helped us with anything we needed,great communication!We had a computer and having internet was very nice option.We would highly recomend this very cute and cozy cottage for everyone who wants to come and explore Lisbon.Irina,Tim and family,USA

I greatly appreciate your good review, thanks so much! I know that we left you and the 5 year old twins playing at the big children’s play area on the green in front of Jeronimos monastery the fist day you arrived but, with a click of an email I told you of the other little hidden gem of a children’s play area right behind the cottage that I know your youngsters made good use of.
I was even able to load a few good sites onto Tim’s laptop before we left and also sent you a sleuth of link suggestions for Kid Friendly things to do in Lisbon. Although I did not meet with Tim’s parents it was good to know that they appreciated the ease and closeness of the public transport links near the cottage so very important with seniors.
The only thing that I could not improve was the weather during your stay but you got the central heating going and your email request for extra blankets I got to you within hours. Yes with our free Internet and your laptop communication was spot on!
