This is a much-loved, very attractive city centre flat which we ourselves lived in for ten years. At the top of a typical Edinburgh tenement, it is four flights up, but its tremendous views of Arthur’s Seat, and the Pentland Hills, which are snow-capped in winter, make it well worth the climb. The flat, which is light and airy, is striking for its welcoming feel, and many of our guests return year after year. Ideally situated for the Royal Mile, Princes Street, shops, cafes and restaurants, it is a stone’s throw from the university in George Square. We have been letting this property since 1998 and take great pride in making it a warm home from home for our guests. It is, therefore, very well equipped, and although it is supremely good value, we have not comprised on the things that matter, like high quality linen and towels, and a comfortable bed. The apartment is on the south side of the city, approximately 10 minutes walk from the Royal Mile and Princes Street. The Festival Theatre, Royal Museum of Scotland and a wide selection of bars and restaurants are all on the doorstep, and the university around the corner. The flat overlooks the Meadows, an attractive public park with tennis courts, and our guests have always found it an ideal base for exploring the city.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rates are for up to 4 people in all cases and the price includes electricity, gas, towels and linen and a mid -stay clean for those staying longer than a week. The changeover (start/end) day can be whatever suits you. There is a £5 fee (charged at cost) if we have to send the keys overseas as we don't live in Edinburgh ourselves (we use a secure service). The same fee applies if we have to send the keys by Special Delivery for last minute bookers. There is no additional fee for sending the keys within the UK.
  • Cancellation policy: If you do have to cancel, we refund you deposit-against-damage immediately. We refund the remainder, minus a £25 administrative charge, if we can re-let the dates booked.

nice clean flat, very central and a great base at the end of a long day sight seeing. We were very glad we decided to go with this rather than a BnB. Bedding very comfy plenty of plates and cutlery. A long walk up to the top floor where the flat is located so not for you if your not a fan of steps. However we thought it was worth it.

good location for all central attractions via a lovely walk through the Meadows, allow a stop for coffee and cake at Peter's Yard-excellent. A sunny flat where sitting up in bed in the morning you can enjoy the views to Arthur's Seat. Definately worth a return visit

Feels a bit like coming home.....

We enjoyed our stay in Bucchleuch St. very much.
The flat is a nice little one, ideal as a basis to discover the city. A short walk will bring you to the Royal Mile and if you think that a 15 minutes walk is much to far, you can take the bus which stops nearly in front of the house.
The flat is very well equipped (we even found a coffee machine) and has got a very homelike interior.
And it was so nice to get this tasty red wine and a kind welcome card as our personally welcome.
Unnecessary to talk about the view. It is absolutely amazing.

The view was fabulous. The location is perfect for everywhere. Close enough to even walk to the train station to go out of town. The Pub across the street is cute (if not a bit noisy at closing time). The bed is comfy and the owner very nice. I would love to come back some day.
