Well appointed, views to field beyond & woodland : Edinburgh is easy by car, bus or train. The ancient Burgh of Inverkeithing is one mile away, with good train & bus links with Park & Ride, a bank, small shops, post office, library, take away food, phone box. Dunfermline, Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, St. Andrews, Pitlochry, Trossachs National Park, Loch Ness, fishing villages, etc. are nearby. Local golf, falconry, riding, walking, cycling, castles, coastal areas, shopping, eating, distilleries. Skiing at Glenshee, etc. A great area with plenty to do for all ages. Lots of local information supplied, including links to local supermarket & attractions, on your email booking information etc.
It's lovely, do come to stay. A welcome home from home, with extra touches, area for computer, desk set.
The woodland is an attraction with nesting birds including peregrine falcon. One family organized a treasure hunt for a few children. Another family cooked on the campfire at twilight & into the dark while waiting for owls. So there's all sorts of healthy activity possibilities. Acres of space & attractions. Wander freely
Distinctive features: We have a keen interest in repairing & decorating & are constantly making improvements & restoration ( i.e. window seat, original wooden doors & some floorboards, etc.) Chris makes indoor feature shelves, facings, garden & indoor folk furniture from local dead trees as well as wood gifts, clocks, stools etc. sold in rustic gallery, our own free range eggs, garden fruit & salad in season. The rear garden approx. 30'long has a gate to our woods. Garden is enclosed for your children and has garden furniture for four, an outdoor wood burning chimanea and covered pergola, BBQ & steamer loungers. You have access to our woods at your own risk, so please take care and accompany children beyond garden ( small stream, etc.) Some ancient woodland, some meadow, many rustic walks. Bluebells are pretty in May, hundreds of wild orchids. June to August thousands of ferns & Meadowsweet. Plenty sightings of badgers, deer, buzzard, etc. Children could bring scrap book to record flora

RECYCLING:-Please ask if you wish more details but basically we have separate containers. What doesn't get re-used ( i.e. tins for pigments, oils & paints for maintenance around the cottages, newspaper for starting the wood stove & logs from dead trees in our woodland) is taken to recycle.
