Beautiful and unique 2 bedroom flat, the upper floor of a listed building with panoramic views over the harbour of the picturesque fishing village of Anstruther in the Kingdom of Fife. Contains many original features but modernised to give spacious and comfortable accommodation. Comprising large beamed lounge with original fireplace, separate dining room, large modern fitted kitchen with all appliances and feature original black iron range, master bedroom with king size bed and ensuite bathroom, double bedroom with built in wardrobe and a modern instant electric shower room. The lounge, dining, kitchen and master bedroom overlook the harbour to the Firth of Forth. 15 minute drive from St Andrews, ‘Ainster’ is close to the other historic fishing villages along this stretch of East Neuk coast. Edinburgh is approx one hour drive away. The flat has everything to support a comfortable and relaxing holiday in this lovely part of Scotland and to take full advantage of the Home of Golf.

Anstruther (Ainster to the locals) is an old village which once supported a vibrant fishing fleet and, with the adjoining village of Cellardyke, retains many of the features you would expect. The fishing museum and the Ferry to the Isle of May is only yards from the apartment door. There are many fine links golf courses in addition to those at St Andrews for example Lundin Links, Kingsbarnes, St Andrews Bay, plus parkland courses such as Ladybank (Open qualifier), the Dukes and so on.

Additional information about rental rates

  • £100 deposit with booking please. Deposit is normally non refundable unless a replacement let for the period is obtained in which case the deposit will gladly be refunded. Remainder of the rental is due 3 weeks before start of holiday.


    Normal letting period is 1 week Saturday to Saturday, however shorter or longer lets may be arranged at a rate as agreed with the owner. Please call or e-mail to discuss.
  • The price includes the provision of bedding and towels. There will be a supply of tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter etc. to greet the guests on arrival.
  • Normal departure time is 10:00 am with arrival 15:00 or later, however this may be varied depending on whether there is an incoming let and as discussed with the owner.

Wonderful property in great location

This was a fantastic property, large, with everything you could have wanted. Clean and well equiped, even a card and bottle of wine to welcome us! The views from the rooms were wonderful and the property was situated in the centre of town so very convenient for shopping, walking and the odd beer. The only downside is that the property is upstairs so its not easy to get buggies etc up and would not be great for the elderly however this is mentioned on the website and as such was not an issue on this occasion. I would definately consider returning here and would have no problems recommending to friends and family.

Great location, lovely apartment.

Stunning views over the harbour and surrounding area.

Apartment was very comfortable with excellent facilities and lovely original features. Well maintained.

Great for the famous Anstruther fish and chip shop.(Top floor above it!!).

We spent just under a week here with our 5 year old, who loved it.

Lovely beaches to play on in the surrounding area.

St Andrews well worth a visit for beaches, sea life centre, shops and restaraunts.

Nice walk along the coastline from Anstruther to Pittenweem that our daughter managed with not too many complaints.

Caryl and Ian were very kind also very helpful.

We will hopefully be returning in the not too distant futureat for a return visit.

great location for touring fife ,great for golf and walking . the apartment was excellent . the village had really good restaurants and bars . this is the sixth apartment that i have rented though out europe and i would say the best , i look forward to my return holiday . the bus stop is right next to apartment so a car is not really needed. Ian and Carol were great hosts and the apartment is a credit to them

AMAZING SEA VIEWS COSY AND WARM

We had a fantastic week over the new year.
The views were amazing looks out to the harbour and sea
Anstruther is a beautiful place lots of lovely walks.
Plenty of eating places
The apartment was beautiful cosy and warm with everything you could ever need .
The owners were very nice and polite they left a bottle of wine for us which was nice touch .
We would highly reccommend this apartment to anyone.
