The bustling county town of Ayr is popular with visitors for its many shops, cobbled pedestrianised walkways, as well as hotels/pubs and coffee houses. Nearby Culzean Castle is well worth a visit to explore its magnificent interior as well as the gardens and swan pond.

Fantastic location - could not be better

The location of this cottage is fantastic. Burns aside, you are a 5 min drive into Ayr itself (we found driving past Seafield golf course the easiest route in) and only 20 mins to Turnberry. You can only park opposite for 30 min during the day time, but we parked just around the corner and were fine. The cottage itself is well appointed - good kitchen and the main bedroom is lovely. Only niggle is the bathroom - fine for us, but older guests may find it difficult to get into and out of the bath/shower as it's a corner unit. Plenty of wardrobe space and lots of useful books to read including bumpf on the surrounding areas.

The Alloway Inn is les than 5 mins walk turning left out of cottage and serves good food. For a special meal, Fouters in Ayr was a treat and the best meal of our stay.

Would not hesitate to stay here again if we were in the area. The owner was very kind too and posted my Isle of Arran cheese onto me as I'd stupidly left in the fridge!

A wonderful property

This is an outstanding property, beautifully appointed and maintained. The owners have combined an old-fashioned master bedroom with light, modern decor in the rest of the apartment - bathroom, twin-bedded room, open plan kitchen/sitting room.
There is a full-range of conveniences - including washer/dryer, dishwasher, extensive cooking utensils and dishes.
There was the bonus of toiletries, starter food supplies, and cleaning materials.
We stayed during a chilly November, and the apartment was cosy warm.
A top-of-the-line property, where we would love to stay again.
