Gleneagles, 2014 Ryder Cup Venue!
Golf at Gleneagles and Auchterarder is an experience everyone can enjoy. The Golf Academy and practice ground provide beginners with the ideal opportunity to learn and the more experienced golfers a chance to improve. Surrounded by magnificent natural scenery even non golfers will appreciate the walk around the courses. (Perhaps meeting at the Halfway House) Long summer evenings offer the added bonus of playing twilight golf in daylight! There are also many local courses in Perthshire, all easily accessible from Gleneagles. The Diageo Tournament usually takes place annually in August on the PGA Centenary Course, the venue for the Ryder Cup 2014! Many of our guests visit St Andrews, the home of golf and a lovely seaside town. (Approximately 1 hour's drive) Many have been regular visitors over the last 8 years. Most leave messages to say 'We will be back!' (We even managed to organise a white Xmas last year for guests from Dubai! )
Other Activities Spa, clay pigeon shooting, off road driving, dog training, cookery demonstrations
Golf Information:
The professional or scratch golfers (and others) will relish the challenge of the PGA Centenary course. The Kings, the venue for many previous championships, is picturesque but can be demanding. The Queen's is spectacularly scenic. (And the Halfway House is a great meeting place.) There is also the Wee Course and the pitch and putt. Lessons are offered at the Academy for players of all standards, even beginners! There is also an excellent practice ground for both the long and short game.
