Photos and Description of this Scottish Highlands & Islands holiday house 6 bedrooms, 3 bath/shower rooms, sleeps a maximum of 8

Attractive, detached and well-equipped, this 2-storey cottage enjoys a lovely coastal position within Sleat. The large garden gives access to the rocky shore. The downstairs sitting-room and upstairs open-plan lounge each enjoy panoramic views of the Sound of Sleat to the mountains beyond. You are In 'the garden of Skye', with forest walks and rolling moorland nearby. Peaceful and private, off main road with working croft next door so we regret dogs must be kept on lead.

A good road system gives speedy access from Bunaite to the whole astonishing island of Skye, but for those keen to sample the delights of Sleat first there is ample choice. Walkers may head to the southernmost tip of the peninsula, Point of Sleat, or to the ancient woodland round the cleared village of Dalavil. History buffs may explore the ruined castles of Knock and Dunscaith, and visit the Clan Donald Centre at Armadale. Nature-watchers may be captivated by families of seals, otters and sea-eagles, while the Gaelic college Sabhal Mor Ostaig, only 2 miles from Bunaite, plays host to myriad concerts, ceilidhs and other cultural offerings.

Little bit of Heaven

Nevada Travelers Winnemucca, Nevada
Review Submitted: April 20, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
This home on Skye will be our little (actually rather large) piece of Heaven forever etched in our best memories. The home is beautiful and with the 6 bedrooms everyone had there own piece of privacy. Upstairs layout provided an escape from the rest of the family when you needed it with all the comforts of your own home. Including a sitting room, bathroom and computer room plus you had three bedrooms. The wood staircase was just beautiful. The home was immaculate and accommodating all in one. The kitchen had all the necessities and then some. The views of the sea and the ins and outs of the tide were mesmerizing. We toured the whole isle of Skye, Sleat, Uig, Portree, Elgo, Broadford, and all the mainland from Loch Ness, Inverness, Stirling, Fort William, on day trips. We took time to see it all while coming home over the Skye Bridge to this home every night. Many places to eat and see right on the Isle. I would recommend this home to anyone, I have a bad leg and the home provided me easy access to the whole house even the stairs to the upstairs living space. This was a beautiful vacation spot and the home was the key to it all. The family was very accommodating and took time from their busy farming lives to let my two grand kids bottle feed the lambs that live there. A beautiful home, nice people, glorious views, castles and good places to eat on the Isle. Whats not to Love!

Peaceful and relaxing.

Review Submitted: August 19, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
An excellent place to stay for two families as there is enough space to get away from each other if necessary. The separate lounges were a bonus with teenagers sharing. It was well equipped, clean and tidy. A bit far to go to get to any eating places or shops but that wasn't a problem for us. It just takes a bit of extra planning! Wonderful views of Scotland and a beautiful, quiet spot. We were made to feel very welcome on the croft and having a dog is not a problem so long as you are careful.
