Apartment Alpe is a spacious (57 m2) ground/1st floor, 2 bedroom, comfortably furnished flat with balcony. The property is situated in the heart of the picturesque alpine village of Kranjska Gora, well known for the Vitranc Slalom and Giant Slalom Ski World Cup, and is one of the most popular ski centres among Slovene as well as foreign skiers. Its central location provides easy access to shops, restaurants and bars (still reasonably priced) with less than 3 min level walk to nursery slopes, ski lifts, ice-skating, swimming and the start of over 150 km of marked trails for cycling, hiking and cross-country skiing. Thanks to its proximity, the whole family can enjoy these facilities as well as horse-riding, fishing, golf, kayak and rafting nearby. Enthusiastic walkers and mountaineers from all over the world come to enjoy the lush green valleys, crystal-clear rivers and the dramatic limestone peaks. Charming village of Kranjska Gora nestles at 810 m (2,567 ft) in the centre of one of the most beautiful alpine valleys, Zgornjesavska valley, in the north-western corner of Slovenia that borders both Austria and Italy. Embraced by the Karavanke and majestic Julian Alps, which are the most southerly extension of the great European Alpine range, it is dominated by legendary mountain peak Triglav at 2,864 m (its image forms national emblem). Kranjska Gora is easy accessible with only 30 min away from motorways in Italy (Tarvisio), Austria (Villach) and Slovenia (Karavanke Tunnel). Railway connections are close by, and international airports are less than an hour away. One of the local agency that organises transfers from bus and railway stations and all airports. The compact lift system provides access to a wide variety of pistes suitable for skiers of all levels, especially for beginners and intermediates. Advanced skiers will enjoy tackling black run in Podkoren, home to World Cup events. Snowboarders will enjoy the slopes to the village. Altitude: 810-1,500 m. Marked piste: 30 km. Snow cannons: 31. Number of runs: 13 blue, 5 red, 3 black. Direction of slopes: North and East. Lifts: 4 chairlifts, 16 drag lifts. Ski lessons available for skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing. Ski-nursery for 3-6 yrs old: 6 days x 2 hours (~78 EUR). Cross country trails: 40 km. Photo: required for lift pass. The world’s largest ski jump is located in Planica valley, 5 km from Kranjska Gora.
