Review of Chalet maisonette at Terme 3000.

Terme 3000 is situated in the top north-east corner of Slovenia close to the Austrian, Hungarian and Croatian borders (all of which are very feasible to visit by car). We flew into Graz and the owner of our chalet booked us a return transfer from the airport which was a real bonus. We knew that with two teenage children we would not stray far from the water park for the first day so we had arranged car hire for the middle of the week. Car hire is informal (absolutely no paper work) and cheap and driving on the roads around the area was hassle free and very easy.
The accomodation was clean, stylish, very functional and met all our needs. All space was carefully and effectively used and the open plan style suited us well. The children enjoyed the bunk beds and we enjoyed eating al fresco in the patio area at the back. Our owner had considerately left some family games, DVDs and novels to occupy our free moments - not that there were many because the water park was only five minutes walk away and it was truly fabulous!
We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing by the pools and testing out the spa water. There are an amazing 22 different pools of various shapes, sizes and temperature in the complex. The kids (and the big kids) enjoyed the many slides each of which required a different level of bravery but for me, the most special feature of the resort was the spa water with its healing properties which is untreated and totally natural. I realised what a good deal we had with our accomodation as our week's pool passes were included in the price. There is also a 'thermalium' in which you can indulge yourself with every beauty treatment imaginable and at a very much cheaper rate than in an equivalent establishment in the UK. My husband and I both treated ourselves to massages.
Within the village of Moravske Toplice and the surrounding villages, there is plenty of restaurants to choose from each with its own unique, unspoilt Slovenian atmosphere. There is a refreshing lack of gimicky tourist features. Other attractions included various excursions to the wineries and scenic spots of the local area.
We had a really good family holiday at Terme 3000. We swam, played tennis, rode horses, toured the area and drove into Austria and Hungary but, most importantly, we relaxed, unwound, destressed and enjoyed each others' company. Oh I almost forgot - the weather was fantastic, well into the 30's with one amazing thunder storm!
Owner's Response: Thanks for the great feedback! The families who get the most out of a holiday at Terme 3000 are always willing to try something a bit different. But as you can see from these comments, it's always rewarding. We love to hear back from our visitors. Without fail, they can always tell us about something new that they have tried and which we always make an effort to try ourselves so we can add it to our list of recommended activities! Slovenia really is a gem, and this review is spot on - it is very unspoiled - especially in this truly amazing region.
