Apple Tree Cottage (6+2) located in a private garden with an orchard

Apple Tree Cottage is situated in a quiet valley of the river Krka in the centre of Slovenia. It offers an enviable degree of seclusion in a private orchard surrounded by grass fields. The cottage is located 10-minutes walk from the village Krka. Two sitting areas in the front of the house and in the garden at the back offer a choice of leisure time and outdoor dining. This traditional Slovenian cottage has been built as a comfortable family villa joining the lounge, kitchen and dining room in one spacious living area. The sliding doors join the lounge with the back terrace enclosed in garden within an orchard. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with a king size bed, a bathroom with a bath/shower and a separate WC. The master bedroom on the first floor is a large room with the sliding door to the terrace. The third bedroom is a large room with two beds and two wardrobes. On the first floor there is a second bathroom with a shower. Sofa bed sleeps extra 2 people.

Slovenia is located in the sunny side of the Alps. It benefits from dramatic Alpine sceneries and warm Mediterranean climate. The Cottage is located in the middle of the country, half an hour’s drive southeast from the Slovenian capital Ljubljana. The local villages in the Valley of the River Krka offer a number of authentic restaurants and traditional inns. The neighbouring hills lend themselves for unspoiled walking tours, mushroom picking, and mountain biking and cycling trips. Krka, “the green river of Dolenjska” is an admired fishing destination. The rivers streams and waterfalls attract several kayaking and canoeing enthusiasts. Instructor-led kayaking tours are available. Further downstream health spas of Dolenjske and Smarjeske Toplice offer a range health treatments and water park with a range of pools.

This traditional Slovenian cottage has been built as a comfortable family villa, retaining its down-to-earth country charm. The lounge, kitchen and dining room join into one spacious living area with a traditional Slovenian stone-built stove and terracotta fireplace adding to a cosy rural feel. The sliding door join the lounge with the back terrace enclosed with the garden. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with a king size bed, a bathroom with a bath/shower and a separate W.C. The master bedroom on the first floor is a large room with the sliding door that leads onto a marble terrace overlooking the grass fields and the forest. Traditional wooden blinds on the terrace door can be opened to catch the rising sun in the morning. The third bedroom is a large room with two beds and two wardrobes. On the first floor there is a second bathroom with a shower. The floors throughout the house are made of oak and pinewood.

Slovenia

Slovenia is located in the sunny side of the Alps. It benefits from dramatic Alpine scenarios and warm Mediterranean climate. The Cottage is located in the middle of the country, half an hour’s drive southeast from the Slovenian capital Ljubljana. This makes it a convenient spot from where you can reach almost any part of Slovenia in one and a half hours drive. Alps: A day trip to the alpine lakes of Bled and Bohinj are also recommended. Further west stretches Triglavski Narodni Park, the national Alpine natural conservation area of exquisite natural beauty. The sea side: The area where the Alps warm up with Mediterranean weather is called Karst. This is the land of world’s deepest caves, Lipizzaners (famous white training horses) and Italian-like cuisine. The restaurants and inns of Karst are only an hour drive away from the Cottage and offer a pleasant day-trip destination. Half an hour further is the Adriatic coast with the ancient Mediterranean town of Piran.

Ljubljana

Ljubljana is a small and picturesque town. A day-trip to the capital makes a delightful destination offering shopping, visits to art galleries, and a variety of bars and restaurants along the Ljubljanica River.

There are two bicycles available for the guests free of charge. Additional bicycles can be arranged on request for at extra cost.

Skiing Information:

Slovenia offers a range of small but quality ski resorts. The property is located one hour drive from the nearest ski resort Krvavec or one and a half from Kranjska gora. There are additional 25 skiing resorts less than one and a half hours drive away.
