Perfect Mountain Retreat

What a wonderful 2 weeks we spend at Chruch view, and you cant get much closer to the Church!! The bells the bells I thought, but no just 2110hrs every night as we sat round the kitchen table drinking local wine at 1 euro for a litre!!
We must have visited most of Slovenia on out visit, Vintgar gorge a lovely 45 minute walk, well worth it and fortuna Gostilna on the way back provided a cheap and wholesome meal of typical Slovene Fare.
Bled itself is a dream,Bled cream cake on the terrace overlooking the lake was a pleasure we shared more than once.
The Toboggan ride was excellent too 6 euros, take the chair lift up the mountain and experience a wonderful view of Bled and the mountains, then come down at 40kph on a toboggan, wow....if you just want the views the Chair lift is 3 euros.
Bohinj is a must, so serene, very cold swimming, take ther cable car up Vogel and get a birds eye view of Triglav. The gostilna on the top is very welcoming, with the boar sausage being very tasty and Cheap.
We also went to Portoroz and Piran, about 2 hours away, again well worth the Trip, especially Piran which has maintained its charm, whilst here we made a 122km trip to Venice.
Kranska Gora and the Vrsic pass with a stop at Bovec for white water river rafting were also completed in our 2 weeks, and the beautiful Most na Soci .
Ljubjlana is a wonderful capital City, very easy to drive into and park, the wonderful Market is a must and the cable car up to the Castle for wonderful views of the city, make sure you find time to call at Tivoli park.
If you want shopping then Kranj is the place to go take the turn just off the Motorway for Kranj and before you get to the city there is a couple of shopping centres, one having a large hypermarket (interspar, excellent self service restaurant try the salad bar, about 4 euros for a big dish!) the other having a giant Merkator.
The house itself was perfect and well equipped, though we didnt spend very long in it! there was so much to see, our guide Tina was very helpful and on call should we have needed her, a car is essential though.
We cant wait to return
