Rincon de las Aves is a restored farmhouse typical of the beautiful area of the Jalon valley of the Costa Blanca. On the bank of the river, the house enjoys an idyllic location in the peace & beauty of magnificent unspoilt natural surroundings. The mature country garden offers secluded bathing in the lovely private 8x4 metre pool. The property is a five minute walk through the almond groves to the picturesque village of Alcalali, well known for its good restaurants and local wine. The restoration has kept the typical Spanish atmosphere of beams ceramics and pine while attending to the modernity, comfort and convenience. Visitors love the villa's homely atmosphere & personal touches. Hence the property is not only a delight in summer but also ideal for longer winter stays. A beautiful inner courtyard, graced by its own tree, provides a partially covered area to sit 'out' all year round. Upper and lower terraces, screened by vegetation provide ideal spots to BBQ or soak up the sun.

Alcalali is a whitewashed village in a superb natural environment of river, valley & mountains. Here time seems to have stood still. It is as it always was: peaceful, beautiful with 'real' local folk; a perfect place for those who are seeking an unspoilt corner of Spain where the authentic original character is still in place. The village is situated in the beautiful wine growing valley of Jalon, a scenic area with a backdrop of spectacular mountains. The Bodega is five mins by car in Jalon for wine tasting. The local wines are delicious and cheap. The area is renowned for its good restaurants many within walking distance of the house. There is plenty to do and see nearby from 'Aqualandia' in Benidorm, Europe's largest water park, to the Moorish village of Guadalest perched on volcanic crags, the crystal cool waters of the Algar falls or the one my children loved: honey tasting in Callosa. The whole area offers endless possibilities for wonderful drives or walks by coast or mountains.

A one week only stay during the season will generate a £25 supplementary charge for extra changeover costs. Linen and towels are included in the rental.
A reservation for more than 4 persons generates an extra charge of £25 per person per week ( applies only to winter tariff, April, May and October, )

The property is approached by a tarmac country lane. There is rarely passing traffic. The garden is private and self contained. The open 'naya' a typical feature of the Jalon valley where they used to spread the grapes to dry, offers a covered terrace for eating and relaxing. The poolside patio has loungers for relaxing. Upper and lower terraces in the garden offer additional lovely spots to soak up sun, BBQ or enjoy the spectacular sunsets over the mountains. The front of the villa, as it overlooks the river, is a natural wildlife habitat, hence the name Rincon de las Aves roughly translated 'the Bird Haven'. (Take your binoculars if you are a birdwatcher!) For winter stays the property has gas central heating which is fuelled by our own deposit to rear of the land. So no unwieldy bottles that need changing over.
Nearby beach resorts and facilities
The nearest beach resorts are Javea, Denia, Moraira and Calpe. Depending on time of the year and traffic, these are approx 20 mins to half hour away by car. Denia is a beautiful coastal town with excellent quality shopping, restaurants and beaches. Javea and Moraira are 'bijou' fishing villages with good beaches and boutique shopping plus waterfront restaurants particularly lovely spot is El Portet. Eat right on the beach at this turquoise clear bay. Calpe is a larger town with a large English and foreign presence. The picturesque port, nestling beneath the huge volcanic outcrop of the Ifach Penon, has typical fish restaurants where you choose from the fish and seafood on display. Excellent golf courses are at Javea and Altea. Altea is 25 mins down the road and is perhaps the most beautiful village of the area. Go up into the old village and visit the cobbled streets, blue domed church and whitewashed houses. Great restaurants too!
