The property is approached by a tarmac country lane. There is rarely passing traffic. The garden is private and self contained. The open 'naya' a typical feature of the Jalon valley where they used to spread the grapes to dry, offers a covered terrace for eating and relaxing. The poolside patio has loungers for relaxing. Upper and lower terraces in the garden offer additional lovely spots to soak up sun, BBQ or enjoy the spectacular sunsets over the mountains. The front of the villa, as it overlooks the river, is a natural wildlife habitat, hence the name Rincon de las Aves roughly translated 'the Bird Haven'. (Take your binoculars if you are a birdwatcher!)
For winter stays the property has gas central heating which is fueled by our own deposit to rear of the land. So no unwieldy bottles that need changing over.
Nearby beach resorts and facilities:
The nearest beach resorts are Javea, Denia, Moraira and Calpe. Depending on time of the year and traffic, these are approx 20 mins to half hour away by car. Denia is a beautiful coastal town with excellent quality shopping, restaurants and beaches. Javea and Moraira are 'bijou' fishing villages with good beaches and boutique shopping plus waterfront restaurants particularly lovely spot is El Portet. Eat right on the beach at this turquoise clear bay. Calpe is a larger town with a large English and foreign presence. The picturesque port, nestling beneath the huge volcanic outcrop of the Ifach Penon, has typical fish restaurants where you choose from the fish and seafood on display. Excellent golf courses are at Javea and Altea. Altea is 25 mins down the road and is perhaps the most beautiful village of the area. Go up into the old village and visit the cobbled streets, blue domed church and whitewashed houses. Great restaurants too!
