Jalon holiday villa

Just back from a two week break at the 39 Steps, completely relaxed and refreshed. The villa is clean, well maintained and with good facilities including dishwasher. Info pack provided was useful as was the guest comment book. The views are spectacular and ever changing during the day. A car is essential to view the sites further afield. Good walking nearby, including Bernia with views out to the Baleriacs. Toured inland through the valley and round to Guadalest and most of the coast, Calpe, Denia, Javea. Weather was good whilst there and the pool and BBQ were well used. The friendly pool man visited twice whilst we were there. Had an excellent meal at a restaurant in Altea left the card in the information pack. Visited Salamanca on other guests recommendation and were not disappointed, service and food were good. Like others I would certainly recommend it to friends and family however the steps could be a challenge to the less able. Not much more to add that others haven't already

A fantstic property with everything you need to cater for your needs. The house was spotless, equipment well maintained, and the pool was everything it should be, with unbeatable views along with peace and quiet. Ideal location for hanging out in privacy or for touring the local area, all easily accessible by good local roads. A local service was available but not used other that the weekly change of sheets and clean. Good variety of local restaurants, with 'The Salamanca' in Jalon being the best by far. (English Owners). Friendly local area with two markets in Jalon per week. The local supermarket MasYMas has everything you need, even has a special diet corner. A Must trip is through the valley and mountains to Guadarlest. See for yourself!!! Denia and Moraira lovely little towns nearby for good shopping and nice relaxing seafront restraunts to sit a watch the world go by. Also a new shopping mall on route to Javea, you can't miss it on the N332. I would recomend the 39 steps to all. BUT the 39 steps are quite steep and might prove prohibitive if disabled. A car is essential. We had a most relaxing two weeks. Peter and Mandi (Worthing).

This is the second time I've been to this wonderful villa, first time was with the girls (worked really well because there are three bedrooms here!) and have now come back again for a short break as a couple. We had very relaxing time & really enjoyed the privacy and facilities offered here. You cannot beat the views from this place, they are undescribable, you will not be able to resist continually photographing the Jalon valley 'beuna vista'. Everything you could possibly want is provided in the villa indoors, all the mod cons, the owners really have thought of it all. For us it was well presented, and very clean and well maintained throughout. However, the Spanish sunshine means alfresco dining, and there are multiple opportunities to eat, drink and relax outdoors at this property.The first meal of the day is taken on a private breakfast terrace, lunchtime tapas by the pool, plus you can have an evening BBQ in the garden with a ice-cold glass of cava & uninterupted views of the glorious spanish sunset across the valley. The pool warms up throughout the day, so it's great way to cool off and indulge in a bit of floodlit, night-swimming. We also enjoyed the naya, the best place to be once the sun has gone down; to watch the stars, play games and put the world to rights. Jalon itself is only just down the hill, it has every convenience including a very modern supermarket, a 'bodega' for your daily wine requirements(!) and a handful of really nice restaurants. Whilst based here don't forget to explore the really nice coastal villages such as Calpe and Moraira and it also worth venturing into the mountains. Guadalest is an amazing medieval village perched precariously on the tip of a jutting rock. This is a great part of the world and has really shown us that Spain has more to offer than just sun, sand, sea and sangria and has revealed its inner beauty & tranquility.
