A memorable and relaxing holiday

My partner and I had a very enjoyable week in La Mata and the apartment was perfect for us, although i imagine it would feel very cramped for more than 2 people, certainly for the avertised 5. As descirbed though, it was literally 5 mins away from the beach and shops and lots of nice restaurants and bars which were reasonably priced with great views of the beautiful and clean beach. One complaint of the apartment was that becuase it was looking out over the pool (which was busy and full looking so we did not use it much), the sound travelled and so afternoons or evenings spent on the terrace were slightly spoilt by lots of children screaming and shouting for most of the day. The directions to the apartment were also confusing and the keys we were given did not work and so we had to sit in the hot sun after arriving until we were able to get in. However these were minor negatives for an other wise lovely holiday in the apartment which was very clean and had everything we needed to cook etc (and a good cd and dvd selection for nights in!). Torrevieja is definately worth a visit too which is very close to La Mata. I would reccomend this apartment for anyone wanting a relaxing holiday especially as it is very good value for money. Everything you need is within walking distance and Torrevieja is a short and cheap bus ride away.

Owner's Response: The apartment is big enough for 5 persons, but I always advise it depends on what people expecta; most people only either eat or sleep in the apartment, so it's ideal and very good value. Both my family and many others have stayed in the apartment and it has never been a problem! The apartment does overlook the pool and is a typically spanish place as described, where people enjoy using the larger than average swimming pool. The pool is open twice daily and supervised by a lifeguard, it closes at 9pm, the pool is not busy all the time, and we have often had the pool to ourselves. The directions to the apartment are very easy to follow, and we haven't received any adverse comments about this before; if anyone does need assistance, we are only a phone call away. The keys provided were the correct ones, unfortunately the front door lock has been changed and sometimes a 'jiggle' with the key is required; again, I do advise guests about this prior to arriving. As you can see from this response, the guests thought the apartment was in an exceptional location, just as described, only a short walk to the beach, the apartment is very well equipped and clean, ideal for those who want a good standard of accommodation and a lovely relaxing holiday, in a typically, spanish resort.
