I would not stay in this apartment again if you paid me. On the day we arrived we were met by the owners mother who told us the tv did not work, the fire did not work and one ring on the cooker did not work. The apartment had not been cleaned properly for a long time, the sofa was very uncomfortable and certainly not for four people. The kitchen was not equipped for two people never mind four and my wife had to wash cups and plates before we could use them. On returning the keys we wrote to the owner to let him know how we felt about the apartment but he could not even be bothered to reply. Dave and Diane.
Owner's Response: Comments like this are always disappointing, particularly when they are simply un-true. In the last 5 years over 100 people have stayed here and this is only the second negative comment I have received in all that time.
Upon arrival you were greeted by the caretaker, who took the time to make sure you got there ok and checked that everything was satisfactory. You were informed about the disruption to the TV service before you left, the whole Costa is currently affected by the closure of the main UK TV service provider.
You were never told the gas fire doesn’t work. It was checked before you arrived and again after you left. It also has very simple to follow instructions on the top that you quite clearly didn’t follow!
The complaints made about the lack of equipment are also un-true. If you had actually looked in the cupboards you would have found the alleged missing items that you detailed in your letter.
I contacted the company that cleans the apartment and they assured me it was cleaned before you arrived. It fact the apartment was in use the week before you went out so the not cleaned for “a long time” statement is completely untrue. In 5 years there has never been a complaint about the standard of cleaning and based on the inaccuracies contained in the rest of you letter I simply don’t believe this to be true.
I did address to concerns in a letter sent to you late last week. It arrived back today as your address was written incorrectly on the letter you sent!
I can only add it’s very disappointing that you chose not to voice any of these concerns with the caretaker during your stay. In fact you told her everything was fine which makes your comments seem malicious and entirely aimed at trying to get a refund.
It is also sad that a company as well respected as this holiday site should publish negative comments without even questioning the motives behind them or indeed the accuracy of the comments made.
