General Information:
There are plenty of Banks (no British) in Torrevieja with cash machines and most of them seem to have someone who speaks English. Not many of the shops / restaurants seem to like accepting 'plastic' or travellers cheques, so keep plenty of 'euros' in your pocket. Shopping in Torrevieja is great, with plenty of bargains from designer trainers in the sports shops to English brands in the supermarkets (try the 'Carrefour'). The only thing I have found that is dearer than the UK, is golf equipment. Eating out is a pleasure and a bargain from the Spanish seafood restaurants in Torrevieja to the English, German, Swedish, Chinese etc found on the various 'urbanisations' around Torrevieja. Try the shoulder of lamb, you get a whole shoulder or a huge T-bone steak for about euro 11.
