La Mata village is very Spanish and has all main services, shops, and a popular weekly market. (Wednesdays) plus the largest weekly market in the area on Fridays a bus ride away at Torrevieja. The area is ideal for fishing, swimming, sailing or just relaxing in the sunshine on the magnificent beach. There is a very enjoyable Aqua Park a short drive away. With Several Golf Courses, a drive away there is something for everyone. Play Golf during the day, Nov - March are still warm during the day, then enjoy the cosy central heating and fireplace in the evenings, or blow the cobwebs away walking along the beach to dine out

PLEASE NOTE: THE VILLA IS VERY LARGE AND BUILT OVER THREE FLOORS. FROM THE MAIN ENTRANCE YOU HEAD UP 6 STEPS TO THE MAIN BEDROOM AND TWIN ROOM AND DOWN 4 STEPS TO THE LOUNGE KITCHEN/DINING AREA. THE POOL AND 3RD BEDROOM(WITH ENSUITE) IS LOCATED ON THE LOWER LEVEL. May not be suitable for the elderly ???
Villa Oviedo is about 5 minutes walk to the beach. There is direct access from the private cal-de-sac down paved steps.

There are also many fine Spanish restaurants and other European tastes are also catered for by the Chinese, Italian, Basque, Indian, Austrian restaurants.
Alicante (about 40 min drive away) is well worth a visit with the beautiful Alicante castle and Alicante cobled streets and beautiful harbour.

Torrevieja has a local market on Fridays. This is reputed to be the largest in the area, and the local bus takes you directly there.
