The Costa Blanca 'White Coast' boasts over 300 days of sunshine per year, attractive for sun worshippers, golfers and water-sports enthusiasts alike. Blue flag beaches and a shallow shelf provide perfect conditions for children and swimmers of all abilities. Wind surfing conditions can be found at La Zenia beach about 4 miles south of town.
The attractive town has large car parks, four are underground, bars, restaurants, markets, shops for all requirements, banks and supermarkets. The 'bohemian' market along the promenade from the Marina to the pier provides interest to a relaxing evening stroll. The rocky sea-front of the town gives way to soft sandy beaches on either side. There is even a small fairground near the pier which is open in the evening. Boat trips are available from the marina. A small submarine is moored in the harbour and open to visitors. An evening stroll along the pier is a pleasant way to while away an hour viewing the town, beaches and marina from a wider angle, but it is much longer than it looks and there is little or no shelter, so do carry a bottle of water!
The 'Aquapolis' aqua park is open from mid June until mid September and provides slides, pools and fountains for activities, thatch sunshades for picnics, and a cafe.
The Paraque de las Naciones is a children's picnic area with a boating lake and novelty shaped peddle boats.
Near the Habaneras and Carrefour hyper-market complex there are other supermarkets, McDonalds, Berger King, various shops, Casino, restaurants, night-clubs, bars, cinema and bowling alley.
