Places of interest

Benidorm is approx 45 minutes drive from Torrevieja, places of interest include: Aqualandia water park, Mundamar where you can have your picture taken with the dolphin's, and the fabulous Terra - Mittica, one of the biggest theme parks in Europe. There is also the Safari Park, definitely worth a visit. Just inland from Benidorm boasts the well-known Guadalest, a pretty mountain village that remains unspoilt; the older part can only be reached on foot and through a single entrance, a sloping tunnel cut into the rock. Another must close by is' Les Fonts De L'Algar' in Callosa D'en Sarria, breath taking water falls where you see many locals and holiday makers diving from great heights into the icy cold waters. A relaxing time can be had here.

Close to Torrevieja

Closer to Torrevieja other places of interest include: Guardamar del segura, a fabulous little Spanish town with wonderful beaches, pine forest miles of glorious white sand beach. (My favourite by far) Santa Pola, renowned for it's beautiful mountain range, sand dunes and salt works. There are a variety of migratory birds here such as flamingos, the colorada duck and the osprey. Elche is another great place to visit, well known for the 200,000 different specimens of palm.Elche is steeped in history and has much to see. La Marina has much to offer with some fabulous beaches and sand dunes where you can see many of the Aloe Vera plant growing to huge heights. All have markets held on different days and can be reached via car within 30- minutes.
