Perfect Quiet Getaway!!

My wife and I spent 2 weeks at this property in July 2011 and had a lovely relaxing time; this was our first fortnight away without the kids ever and we aimed to chill and did!!!
The drive to the villa was easy enough though we were a little concerned as we got close that the area appeared somewhat neglected, the roads and pavements are not that great.
However once at the property we found the area was very quiet and peaceful with almost no traffic.
The studio was as described, not luxurious but sufficiently well equipped for our needs, we did most of our cooking on the barbeque.
By far the best aspect of this property is the pool and its surround, absolutely gorgeous! Great views, good size pool and good quality sunbeds, sofa, etc. We spent a lot of time there. The jacuzzi was an added bonus.
Altea la Villa is small with a few shops and bars which we tended to visit during the day. For meals out we would drive to Altea, which was not far and has a very pleasant promenade with a wider choice of restaurants.
We made two visits to Benidorm including taking a boat trip along the coast to Calpe, which is a day trip I would recommend.
A car is essential at this property unless you like long walks that are uphill on the way home.
Overall though an excellent property at a very reasonable price and if you happen to be around when he calls, the handyman/gardener, Len is a very friendly and helpful chap with good advice where to visit and when.
