Location:
The Arenal has a beautiful sandy half-moon bay with a gentle slope to the sea and accredited by the World Health Organization with a blue flag standard. Monitored by the Red Cross Beach Patrol the beach is ideal for young & old alike. Behind the beach is a promenade lined with bars and restaurants offering everything from live bands to traditional restaurants. There is a small fair for the children in the summer months with rides, trampoline & go-karts. The prom is a great place for a stroll in the evening. Nearby the fishing port has a large marina, intimate cobbled streets, a brightly lit promenade of restaurants & bars, & clean pebbled beaches. Also nearby the traditional historic town with white house fronts & cobbled streets is a typically unspoilt Spanish town with a quiet and relaxing ambience & has many traditional 'tapas bars' & a weekly market on Thursdays.
Things to do:
Javea has a choice of beaches for those seeking water sports such as wind surfing, jet biking or sailing. The warm seas are perfect for diving, snorkeling and water skiing. Go-karting and quad- biking are also available close by. Football fans can be in Valencia in just over an hour and with golf, tennis, bowls etc- you name it and it's never too far away. Apart from the sporting activities there is plenty for the kids to do should they get bored with the beaches. Less than 30 minutes away there are many attractions for all ages including a Safari Park, 'Mundomar' an Animal Water Park, 'Aqualandia' a theme Swimming Park and 'Terra Mitica' a large Fun Park, boasting some of the largest rides in Europe.
Golf :
Golf Information The Costa Blanca has many renowned golf courses of which 5 are less than an hours drive. Javea itself has 2 – the internationally renowned 18-hole course La Sella which is less than 20 minutes away and a 9-hole course which is more difficult than it looks and has superb views of the 'landmark' Montgo mountain. There are further 9-hole courses at Moraira and Altea and a new 18-hole Seve Balesteros designed course at Oliva around 30 minutes away. There are also very good courses at Valencia and Alicante, in particular the famous 18-hole championship links course at El Saler, for those who don’t mind a drive before a round.
