Around and about

In centre of Marina Baixa district characterized by ‘mountains rising up from the sea’. Ten-minute drive to sea and beautiful beaches. Away from the sea into spectacular inland mountain touring routes of Sierra Aitana with picturesque small towns and villages and well known tourist destinations such as Guadalest. Markets in the area every day of the week. Ranging from massive market in Benidorm with fantastic range of fruit, vegetabls, flowers, plants, fashion, textiles, shoes, toys... Wednesdays, to popular Sunday rastro market in La Nucia. Terra Mitica and Terra Natura theme parks a few minutes drive and Aqualandia water park and Mundomar. And golf? Real de Faula Golf course just 5 minutes drive away.

Cultural events

Plenty to do and see. Impressive new concert hall and outside auditorium opened in 2007 in La Nucia and already hosted a staggering range of performances from opera, jazz, flamenco and zarzuela to classical, folk, theatre, ballet, rock ...an endless list. Concert halls also in Altea and Alfaz. Art galleries in Alfaz and Calpe. Town celebrations and fiestas around patron saint's date and other significant dates throughout the region. Also well known for annual celebration of 'Moors and Christians' festivals, two best known being Alcoy and Vilajoyosa.

Golf, cycling, walking and other activities

Away from the beaches there's plenty to do and see. Nearest golf club, Real de Faula, is a few minutes drive away. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, opened in 2005, Real de Faula Golf has two 18-hole courses. Levante Course is full length par 72 championship course, while the Poniente course is par 62 executive course. Set in pine valley with sea and mountain views. Cycling very popular in the area, walking and trekking routes through the mountains, scenic tours, places of interest, historical sites, horse riding, rock climbing and lots of other possibilities.
