Beaches and coastal walks:
Our apartment is 20 years old and still retains much of the Spanish character that maybe is lacking in some of the new builds (including a funny light brown bathroom suite!) the block has only 3 stories, so the pool area gets the sun all day long, but does have shady areas and has a cordoned off children’s pool. The pool is only shared by 36 other apartments and you may leave our sun beds round the pool, unlike a lot of other apartment blocks.
Punta Prima beach and restaurant, is a short stroll away without having to cross any busy roads, Just at the end of the road next to the Nautilus bar and restaurant is as small beach and a little further round the coast is a palm fringed cove.
There are many more blue flag beaches within easy reach. You can take coastal walk to Cabo Roig (Red Cape) where there are beautiful sandy beaches, some in cove settings with many leisure activities and beach bars. Above the marina is a bar and restaurant with wonderful views across the sea to La Manga.
Leisure In the area :
There are many sporting and leisure activities on offer. We have found a wonderful Bike Hire company and can arrange for the whole family to be kitted out with good bikes, helmets and bike locks at very reasonable rates.
For a great day out for all the family is the Aquopolis water park in Torrevieja (open summer months) with Rapids, Kamikaze & Zig Zag water slides, Wave Pool, Swimming Pools & Infants Pool. Jacuzzi, Mini Golf, Restaurant, Cafeteria & lots more.
Or visit the safari park (near Santa Pola), caves (at Canelobre) or the funfair by Torrevieja marina.
The championship golf courses of Villamartin, Campoamor & Las Ramblas are all about 10/15 minutes by car or taxi. Further afield there are courses at Quesada, La Finca and the famous La Manga golf course.
Spain Torrevieja:
Torrevieja is a bustling Spanish town with many shops, bars, restaurants, a long promenade, beaches, parks, museums and an international marina. The local bus service to Torrevieja (journey time 10-15 minutes), leaves every hour from the corner of the road and runs from 8 oclock in the morning, until 11 o'clock at night and 12 in summer months.
The climate in and around Torrevieja and is generally slightly more agreeable than the rest of the Costa Blanca, as mountains are farther away from the coast, this generates a pleasant breeze in the heat of the day. The Torrevieja Salt lakes help to make the area one of the healthiest places in Europe (A claim according to the World Health Organization) Average temperatures range from approximately 18 deg C in January to 32 deg C in midsummer. It is ideal for golfing breaks throughout the winter period, with an almost guaranteed supply of sunshine all year around.
