Climate::
Denia has a low allergy climate as well as being voted the healthiest climate by the W.H.O.
NEW AND EXPECTED DURING 2008 - commercial centre on the outskirts of the town providng Denia with a huge shopping centre, 5 screen cinema and ten pin bowling alleys, plus a retail village. a soft play centre is planned also and shall be located near the sea front in the town centre.
Festivals::
In March the Falles (bonfire festival) celebrate the arrival of Spring with its fun satirical monuments, which are burnt on St. Joseph’s night. Our Lady of the Foresaken Parade in May. There are 4 festivals in June with dancing, open air parties and fancy dress including the Bonfires of St John that announces the Summer with songs and fires on the seashore. July sees the famous Bous a la Mar (Bulls at the sea) celebrated. A unique show, involving Bulls being set loose in the Port, considered to be a Celebration of National Touristic Interest. As a culmination of these celebrations, there are sporting competitions and floats in the street with lights, colour and fireworks. In August Moors y Cristianos (Moors and Christians) pass through the streets of Denia, dressed up with their best clothes. Fun and colourist celebrations dedicated to Sant Roc, which attract visitors from all over the world every year.
Yachting & Formula 1:
Valencia is hosting the Americas Cup Yacht race for the 2nd year running and Formula 1 shall be in Valencia in August.
Golf:
There are four courses within 15 mins drive: La Sella Golf in Denia and Oliva Golf which are both 18 holes, and two local nine hole courses at Javea and Ifach. there are a further four courses within 30 minutes. you could also get the highspeed ferry to Ibeza and play there.
Other Activities:
Climbing, scuba diving & kitesurfing.
