Choices:
Sometimes all you want to do is read a book during the day, rest by the pool and walk to a local restaurant/ bar in the evening. Alternatively, after an active day out you do not always fancy getting in the car again and driving somewhere to eat (specially if you want a drink) - this is also why Jesus Pobre is such a wonderful location.
The local basic Spanish restaurants/bars are welcoming, not overpriced and very child friendly. A great alternative!
Also, there is a very small local Thursday market in the small village square - amazing veg, fresh fruit and meats for those who wish to spend an evening at home relaxing and perhaps sitting peacefully on balcony for al fresco dining - overlooking the valley or perhaps just relaxing on comfortable leather sofas and watching one of the DVD's available to you.
There is also a lovely Church in the village, well worth a look and everyone is welcome!
More Information on Jesus Pobre:
There are a few small Spanish villages that have never lost the charm of sparsely populated areas and have perserved their own personality and unique characteristics and Jesus Pobre is one such village. Lying inland between the towns of Javes and Denia and Gata de Gorgos next to the impressive Montgo mountain, this pretty village is a haven of peace and tranquility. Its history is evident in the ruins of the 18th century grain mills and the culture of its vvines. Olives and moscatel grapes are harvested traditionally and one of the village's main fiestas, del Cabrerot is held around October once the grape harvest is over.
