Campoamor - The front nine holes are fairly open, but fast, protected greens are just waiting to catch the unwary. The back nine holes are more demanding. The shortest and most challenging is Las Ramblas which demands accuracy at each hole. High trees, natural fairways and ravines feature strongly in this stunningly beautiful course. Torrevieja town nearby (wide range of facilities) :
Picturesque Torrevieja (10mins by road) is close by with a wide range of facilities including all major banks and tourist information (main square or on promenade near the marina). Situated on the coast Torrevieja is surrounded inland by natural salt lakes providing a beautiful setting against the distant mountain backdrop (these mountains provide a spectacular day out by car). The town has a long promenade passing three beaches that are lined with restaurants of all types. The town also has new sports centre offering a wide range of sports and a multiscreen cinema (some films in English). The Carrefour Hypermarket (road into Torrevieja from Elche) stocks a massive range of food and other items. Near to the Carrefour is the Aquapark which has very good range of rides and pools for small and big kids alike. Go karting (road between La Zenia and Torrevieja) has an excellent track for adults and smaller karts for children. The safari park at Alcoy is a great day out for the children.
Other attractions / things to do:
A visit to the cities of Alicante (wide selection of shops and a beautiful marina - nice location for an evening meal), Cartagena (steeped with naval history) or Murcia (good shops and a stunning central cathedral) is worthwhile. There are a number of themed bars in the area including a number of sports and Irish bars, the most well known is Paddy's Point near the roundabout, call in if you want a lively and entertaining evening. The Plaza at VillaMartin (near the golf club) is a lovely setting with a wide range of quality shops and restaurants, it is well worth spending an evening here. We recommend you take the time to explore the sea-side walk, stretching from Playa Flamenca, through La Zenia to Cabo Roig (a well designed path skirts the coast passing sandy beaches, natural coves and caves set into the hillside - there are a number of quality bars and restaurants along the path). Terra Mitica theme park (75 mins drive North) is a lively and action packed day out for all ages.
