La Zenia holiday house: 35 Amapolas 1V, Calle Rocio

This property is excellent and when I go to Alicante I always stay here - try to get there twice yearly. It feels like a home from home . The property is spotless, safe and very comfortable and nicely decorated. It has all the features including sky TV (when sun gets too hot ), air conditioning in all rooms, large patio areas with barbeque, table and chairs for breakfast outside in morning, comfortable patio furniture to lie out when return from pool/beach in evenings – sun stays on front patio till late in evening and the back patio is shaded when gets too hot. There is also an outside toilet and shower which I’ve found great for cooling off at times. The house is very spacious inside and outside. So never feel on top of one another. It is on 3 levels - love the top floor bedroom with its own ensuite – very bright as has both patio doors and window so loads of light – and a great balcony for sitting out in the morning and reading my book.

The location of this property couldn’t be better – while it is in a residential area there are pubs (recommend Paddy’s point – live music ) and a variety of good restaurants, large supermarket only minutes walk away. The beach is 10 minute walk - large white sandy beach really clean but I usually go to the resort called Oriheula Costa which is 5/8 mins walk away and lie out there by pool and have my bar snacks, glass of vino at lunch. Only a taxi ride or a 15 min walk is another area called Cabo Roig which has loads more restaurants /bars to choose from – the bog road (irish pub) has live music every night . There is also a beautiful promenade for a walk here which I’d recommend - views are amazing. The other direction is a complex called Playa Flamenca which has numerous bars & restaurants as well.

The area itself – La Zenia is lovely and there are a lot of English/Irish & Spanish all living in the locality who delight in welcoming visitors and are full of advice about where to go for best meals, prices, etc.. So do ask – and what I’ve found even if they don’t have an answer to the query they will ring someone who might. A car is very useful and I would recommend it but not necessary if you don’t mind a little walking and we always get one at airport (Try Record car hire).
