Javea is made up of three areas, the Arenal with its beautiful sandy beach, bars and restaurants. During the summer evenings the Arenal is busy with crafts stalls, artists and musicians. Javea old town consists of narrow streets. picturesque buildings and a colourful market every Thursday morning. The port area has a traditional fishing fleet and the Arenal beach area has sandy beaches, cafes, restaurants, boutiques and shops. The World Health Organisation found Javea to be climatically and environmentally one of the healthiest places on earth. Beaches are blue flag standard and are monitored by the Red Cross Beach Patrol.
