Villamartin locale:
The main Plaza is central to the area and within 5 minutes walking distance. The double storey complex has a truly international flavour with bars and restaurants serving international dishes from China, Thailand, Italy, Mexico and UK. In addition the plaza houses a pharmacy, bank, GP doctor and various gift shops. There is also a small supermarket in-house with a larger supermarket a 5 minute drive away. Adjacent to the Plaza is the Villamartin golf club which has further excellent restaurants and recreational facilities, all of which are open to the general public.
For the children, a park with amusements is available.
Apart from the Plaza complex there are many other bars and restaurants in walking distance to ensure that your hours after sunset will be well spent.
For those who want to visit other areas the motorway system is connected at La Zenia and Villamartin has superb access to Alicante and Benidorm to the North and La Manga in the South. All in all an ideal spot.
Beaches:
The Orihuela coastline has many beautiful white sandy beaches which are a 5 to 10 minute drive away. The nearest of them is located at La Zenia including adjoining resorts at Cabo Roig and Campoamor. These are ideal for families with soft sand and gentle slopes into the sea. Water sports including pedalos, skiing can be found at most locations. In addition the unique and picturesque resort of La Manga (Scene of Englands soccer training camp) is a 25 minute drive to the South and the inland salt water lake can be seen from the high spots around Villamartin.
The Climate:
The Costa Blanca has the most moderate temperatures of the 3 Costas. Costa Brava to the North has cold Winters whilst the Costa Del Sol to the South has extremely hot Summers. Year round sunshine is virtually assured with a lovely year round climate.
Golf:
Villa Elanor is within walking distance of the Villamartin Golf Course, famous as the venue for the Spanish Open Championship. The course has an abundance of flora and olive trees and golfers of all handicaps are welcomed to test their abilities on a Championship layout.
In addition, within a 10 minute drive there are two other superb courses at Campoamor and Las Ramblas. Both these clubs are situated in elevated areas with alternating hills and ravines, numerous trees and stunning views. Campoamor also boasts one of the finest clubhouses you could ever desire.
The golfing fanatic will be spoilt at Villamartin with many other golf courses within a 30 minute drive.
