You will be met by the owners on arrival. La Isla is a beautiful urbanisation 5 min walk from Arenal beach with its bars and restaurants, but far enough away to be quiet car hire not essential. La Isla is an ideal holiday location with its beautiful pool and gardens and the Arenal sandy beach only a few minutes walk away. Sandy beach with shallow water and children's play area make this perfect for a family holiday. The bay is lined with bars and restaurants which means that bored children do not have to stay at the dinner table when finished but can play in safety on the beach in view of parents who can relax and finish their meal. Spectacular scenery with wonderful views and walks over the mountains within half-hours drive. In contrast there is Javea Port with its fishing fleet supplying the area with fresh fish, marina, shingle beach backed with restaurants and shops along the promenade. The Old Town virtually unchanged over the centuries with narrow winding streets, and traditional markets.

Notes: Both balcony and patio are furnished with tables and chairs, the property also has chairs for use in the garden and beach chairs. Roller type insect screens have been fitted to all doors and windows for your comfort. Cots and high chairs can be provided at a cost of 12 Euros per unit per week. Car hire details for local companies can be provided on request. We are more than happy to meet you at the nearest motorway exit and guide you to the house but of course we do provide a detailed map and are pleased to say that we have not lost a guest yet !! For for those not wishing to hire a car we can offer a collection service from the airport. All of our bedding is 100% cotton sheets and quality towels. La Isla is permanently stocked with liquid hand soap, toilet rolls, kitchen towels and cleaning materials in addition to a supply of tea bags, coffee and olive oil. We also a free shopping service, particularly useful for those guests arriving late.

About the area: The house is a 5min walk from the resorts Arenals sandy beach which has been awarded the EC Blue Flag and has a Red Cross beach patrol. At either end of the bay are the dramatic headlands of Cabo La Nao and St Antoni, which provide spectacular views. The Arenal is lined with bars, restaurants, shops and parking. Javea is split into three areas. Other than the Arenal there is Javea Old Town which retains its Spanish atmosphere with its narrow streets and white washed houses with wrought iron balconies and the 15th century church of San Bartolome which is still showing marks from the civil war. Also of interest is the Archaeological Museum with roof terrace that has amazing views of Javea and the surrounding area. The daily covered market is here and the weekly open market every Thursday morning. La Puerta de Javea is a working fishing port where it is possible to buy fish from the boats as they dock. There is a large marina, shingle beach and hosts a variety of shops and restaurants.

Golf Information: Within 5 minutes drive of the house is Javea Golf Club on the Benitachell road, the course has 9 holes, and is 3,035 metres long. La Sella Golf Club is 15 minutes drive inland on the Jesus Probre road. This course has 18 holes, and is 6,029 metres long, the course has many trees and water obstacles. This is a private members club open to the public. Within a half-hour drive to the north is the Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. the course has 18 holes, and is 7,051 metres long. There is also a 9-hole course at Club de Golf Ifach Moraira. Most clubs do have driving ranges, putting greens, swimming pools, club bars and restaurants, but please check first if you have a specific requirement. It is advisable to have your handicap certificate with you as most clubs will require seeing it.

Leasure Activities: The Tourist Office offers a wide range of information on activities including maps and free guided walks of the area during the summer. Pleasure boats sail from the port to a variety of destination most popular being the return trip to Denia with its Monday market, tree lined avendas, pavement cafe and of course the opportunity to shop. Within 30 minutes drive to the Benidorm area is Terra Mitica a historical theme park, Mundomar Marine Park and Aqualandia Water Park. 20 minutes north near Denia is El Vergel Safari Park. Horse rides and lessons are available at the Centro Hipica Javea. Diving schools are widely available. The main beach has dedicated children's play areas, also locally there is a whole variety of beach activities including Jet Skis, boat hire etc.

AT LAST!! A holiday home that actually was everything the write up said it was going to be! In actual fact the photos do not do the property justice!

With only having one holiday a year, picking the right location and property to suit us and our two children, who are both under 7, is very important to us and this holiday definately ticked all the boxes.

We were met at the property by the owners who had organised a welcome pack for us on arrival which we had pre arranged with them before we flew out so it was straight into the swimming pool for us all to cool off and relax rather then try to find the local shops to get supplies, having the two children this was a god send.

The house itself was immaculately clean and spacious and in a superb location with only being a 5 minute walk to the beach and restaurants but far enough to retreat back for a bit of peace and quiet if desired. Most nights we stayed in and dined 'Alfresco' on the terrace and once the kids were asleep we sat on the balcony overlooking the pool which is beautifully lit in the evening and enjoyed a glass of wine or two!

The pool and gardens in la isla, in our opinion and to most of the locals it seems, is the best in the area and it is very child friendly. The sun stays on the pool till late which is probably why we stayed in most evenings as we never wanted to get out!

Needless to say we have booked again for next year and are counting the days!

We stayed at this splendid town house at La Isla in Javea from 17/10/09 to 24/10/09. We regularly visit Javea to see old friends (having clocked up some 14 visits in 5 years). We always find Javea a good place to rest & relax from our busy professional lives. Over the years we have spent time in several rented properties but would have to say this two bedroomed town house is in our opinion one of the best. Clean, tidy and well equiped, the house is situated in a secure community with a wonderful/large pool that can be directly accessed from the house. La Isla is situated only a few minutes walk from the heart of the busy Arenal beach area, yet is quiet and peaceful. Christine and David Neve, the owners, are always available by phone to resolve any difficulties or offer advice about the area, but are equally happy to let experienced Javea visitors, like ourselves,get on with things. Our stay was trouble free and we would be very glad to return again.

Lovely little house, wonderful pool and gardens

We are seasoned self-catering renters and were delighted with Christine and David's little house at La Isla which has all one could need including insect screens! These latter were reassuring 'though we weren't in fact troubled by mozzies during our stay (September 2009). The house - steps away from the pool of which more later - is well furnished and well maintained and it was lovely to have the choice of upstairs balcony or downstairs patio for sitting out. The gardens - yet another option for sitting out - and the wonderful pool were always quiet as it was September and there were fewer people around except perhaps at the weekend. In fact, the gardens and pool were so enticing that we were resistant to leaving, to walk the ten minutes or so to the beach! Also within easy walking distance - as mentioned in other reviews - are shops, supermarkets and many places for a drink or a meal so a car, while useful for touring the area, is not an essential. The information pack in the house is comprehensive and covers every question one might think of asking! Christine and David are most welcoming 'hosts' and even did our supermarket shopping for us before our arrival as we were starting our holiday on a Sunday when shops are closed. We loved our visit and look forward to returning, probably again in September when the weather is not too hot.

A lovely place to stay!

My family and I recently had the chance to stay at this wonderful house! Not only did we receive a lovely welcome and wonderful hosts, but the house was impeccably clean and well equipped for 4 adults and a baby! We absolutely loved it there. The pool and garden are a wonder to wake up to--quiet, relaxing and beautiful. The sandy beach is a 5 minute walk and so were just far enough to our quiet retreat in the evening! Not only would I recommend it--we're going to plan to come back to it for sure!
