About the area:
The house is a 5min walk from the resorts Arenals sandy beach which has been awarded the EC Blue Flag and has a Red Cross beach patrol. At either end of the bay are the dramatic headlands of Cabo La Nao and St Antoni, which provide spectacular views. The Arenal is lined with bars, restaurants, shops and parking. Javea is split into three areas. Other than the Arenal there is Javea Old Town which retains its Spanish atmosphere with its narrow streets and white washed houses with wrought iron balconies and the 15th century church of San Bartolome which is still showing marks from the civil war. Also of interest is the Archaeological Museum with roof terrace that has amazing views of Javea and the surrounding area. The daily covered market is here and the weekly open market every Thursday morning. La Puerta de Javea is a working fishing port where it is possible to buy fish from the boats as they dock. There is a large marina, shingle beach and hosts a variety of shops and restaurants.
Golf Information:
Within 5 minutes drive of the house is Javea Golf Club on the Benitachell road, the course has 9 holes, and is 3,035 metres long. La Sella Golf Club is 15 minutes drive inland on the Jesus Probre road. This course has 18 holes, and is 6,029 metres long, the course has many trees and water obstacles. This is a private members club open to the public. Within a half-hour drive to the north is the Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. the course has 18 holes, and is 7,051 metres long. There is also a 9-hole course at Club de Golf Ifach Moraira. Most clubs do have driving ranges, putting greens, swimming pools, club bars and restaurants, but please check first if you have a specific requirement. It is advisable to have your handicap certificate with you as most clubs will require seeing it.
Leasure Activities:
The Tourist Office offers a wide range of information on activities including maps and free guided walks of the area during the summer. Pleasure boats sail from the port to a variety of destination most popular being the return trip to Denia with its Monday market, tree lined avendas, pavement cafe and of course the opportunity to shop. Within 30 minutes drive to the Benidorm area is Terra Mitica a historical theme park, Mundomar Marine Park and Aqualandia Water Park. 20 minutes north near Denia is El Vergel Safari Park. Horse rides and lessons are available at the Centro Hipica Javea. Diving schools are widely available. The main beach has dedicated children's play areas, also locally there is a whole variety of beach activities including Jet Skis, boat hire etc.
